Has to be considered but I, along with many others, advise caution. If he can return to his 2013 form then he is, at the least, a pretty good pick. However, one has to consider that his 2013 is really the outlier in his fantasy resume to date. Griffen has always been one of those players whom I believed would play to that sort of level for much of his career and, as such, I always considered him based on potential alone. He finally reached that level in 2013 but there's no guarantee he will do so at GWS. He could just as easily average 95 or he could get close to 120. I can easily see myself agonising over whether or not to include him in my team just prior to GWS's first match of the year.
Why take risk when you have Danger as similar price or pay for Ward and get the benefit of continued improvement.

There in lies the problem.

Reckon my team changes 5 to 10 times a day, and Griff is currently in and has been in most of the time. I think that Leon Cameron got him so that we could get some cheap SC points. My current midfield is :-
Gazza,  Pendles,  Gray (will end up forward),  Murphy,  Danger,  and Griff. After Gazz and Pendles I've tried to get mids who I think will or could be in the 6 to 11 finishing order. Cheers all.    :o

glad im no mad in thinking starting gray in the midfield this year. :)

Hard to line this bloke up, could get back to his best but could avg what his priced at now which wouldn't be a great buy

Iirc he won gws time trial before Xmas. If he's looking good in nab it could persuade me.... But geez it must be safer to find 30k and get danger

Nige

I'd pick Ward and Treloar ahead of him.

RaisyDaisy

If he was under 500k, say the same price as Swan he would be a lock, but I'd rather pay the extra 50k and get a better player

Griff is very good, but he has only ever had one real premo season anyway. I'll happily pay an extra 50k for him if he shows me he is going to be elite

I'd even argue Dylan Shiel ahead of him.  :P

He's a dud, will be lucky to average 30 next year without Libba feeding him all the time.

Nah, just kidding. I don't even care, we weren't going to win a flag while Griff was around but we got a bloke who might get us there someday.

I'll definitely be picking Griffen. Dude averaged almost 100 with a bad back and was loafing half the time. I think he'll be much more motivated to play for a coach who he doesn't hate. R23 was a job interview and he showed Leon what he is going to give him. Still the most underrated elite mid in the game, and that = POD.

Griff had an interupted preseason and started poorly with 63 and 49. He was subbed out at ht with back problems on 47.

If griff is fully fit and doesnt have an interupted preseason he could go 110+

Griff avg 107 without the scores mentioned above while unfit and carring niggles.

quinny88

Yeah I'm with you guys. Think he is a very good chance to go 110+ at least!

Dayze

I wrote a list of every player I thought could go +110 and at GWS I had four. I also had another four I thought could go +100.
Plus Shaw, plus Mummy. Somethings gotta give.

Someone is going to go bananas at Gws and a few people are going to flop. Too much uncertainty for me to risk in the guts.
