Round 1 Results

Chile Peppers 524 (E Betts 154, D Hannebery 133) defeated Argentina 436 (S Burgoyne 111) by 88 points

Solid effort from Chile in the inaugural match, with the side breaking the 500 point margin thanks to big centuries from HDannebery and Betts. Tippett, Jacobs and Jaensch all performed solidly, but have plenty of room for improvement.

Argentina needed someone to go big to support Burgoyne, but it didn't happen.

In the reserves, rising star Isaac Heeney pushed for selection with 96, while Cunningham, Grundy and Ellis-Yolmen all scored plus 70 for the match. Good to note that 12 of the 16 squad had a game this weekend.

Round 2 Results

Chile Peppers 509 (S Jacobs 141) defeated Brazil 397 (T McDonald 122)

Chile needs only the 1 more win (likely) to secure a spot in the next stage, after cracking the 500 mark two weeks in a row. Brazil had a couple of disappointments and McDonald needed some more help.

No player lower than 87, with each of the starting 5 securing a spot in the team. Sauce Jacobs the star of the show with a mammoth 141.

Isaac Heeney is under pressure to keep his emergency spot, with his score of 65 being eclipsed by other reserves players Ellis-Yolmen (98), Heath Grundy (92) and Dom Sheed (78). Again happy that I had 11 of my 16 players get on the park this week.

Crashing back to earth with a loss to Peru. Tippett on the chopping block after a dismal 39, but apart from a stellar effort from Hannebery, no one else really stood up. Armitage and Boak provided the plat form for Peru.
