Hawks_1976

Has been a while between posts, too busy at work.

I put a draft together and here is what I'm thinking.

TEAM NAME: SC 2015 draft
DEF: N. Malceski, A. Walker, J. Newnes, G. Ibbotson, B. Waters, B. Whitecross (A. Johnson, H. Goddard)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, N. Fyfe, B. Crouch, J. Steven, C. Petracca, A. Brayshaw, I. Heeney (B. Boekhorst, N. Freeman)
RUC: M. Kreuzer, M. Leuenberger (B. Dowdell, F. Thurlow)
FWD: L. Franklin, D. Martin, D. Swan, J. Ziebell, T. Bellchambers, M. Clark (J. Hogan, N. Krakouer)
CASH LEFT: $5,900

In defence, I've seen a few people comment that Malceski is over-priced and I do tend to agree but there don't seem to be many options in defence that will almost guarantee you a 100 avg this year. I'm picking Walker to return to 2013 form after a injury riddled 2014. If Newnes is a defender he almost picks himself and having a good pre-season I read. Ibbotson, Waters and Whitecross are all risks but have plenty of upside if healthy and picked for R1. Rookies to be determined.

Mids, I think GAJ, Pendles and Fyfe are certainly top 5. I'm looking to take a risk with Crouch and Steven. I think a fit Crouch can average around 105 and Steven has proven he can hit big numbers with a 110 avg in 2013. Mid rookies to be determined but Petracca and Brayshaw hold enough cash that they can be exchanged for cheaper options once we've seen some NAB form.

I picked Kreuzberger because its a cheap combo and should represent good value. I can't identify any basement ruck rooks that look like getting an early game so Thurlow is picked to switch with Bellchambers in the fwd line for back up.

Bud, Dusty and Swan should be top scoring fwd premos this year. Ziebell is a risk pick, could push towards a 100 avg or do nothing. Bellchambers is value and must step up with Ryder gone, F/R status is a bonus. Clark and Hogan should get on the park at basement price, Krakouer is a speculative pick and would need upgrading to get a game.

Please let me know your thoughts on this team. Rookies obviously subject to change. If you don't like a certain player then please comment why and who you would replace them with.

Thanks in advance.

Defence is strong without being huge strength! What was injury problem with walker? I hear M.Jamison say he may be used up forward so watch his nab!
Love Crouch pick as I have him and I agree he will score 105-113 and I'll take that as he is a hug POD. Steven probably prime tag candidate, however Montagna might be depending on where he plays, watch that in nab aswell.
Ricks strong good you have cover watch the rookies though if one comes up is downgrade Bellchambers upgrade that defence. And or Ziebell to lids
I'm weary on Ziebell at the moment never proved him self completely but first time for everything!
7.5/10

i agree with most of what you say. Only change would be to your 2 starting premo DEFs.
we dont know how Malceski will go in a new team. and have read Walker may play FWD which could hurt his scores.
other than that your team is great. love the picks.
Zieball will have a great year. i can see him going 10+ on his avg.

I still think Eski is not worth is and would look at Smith, Hibberd and Shaw who will all score arounf the same for 50k cheaper. Walker is a good pick if playing that half back role which im not sure he will (Watch NAB cup closely). Newnes should be a good pick. Ibbotson is a dud pick for me but like the other two.
Love the midfield. Cant really fault it. Good too see you have put some money into the rookies.
Standard rucks.
Again good forward line.

Maceski to Swan/Hibberd/Smith would allow you to get one of Ziebell/Crouch/Steven to a better pick. that's what I would do but non the less very good side.

Smith is a 1 year wonder and i refuse to pay 500k for him.
I'd rather spend that money on a proven player. Simmo/Shaw/Hibberd.

GWYG mate.
