Thought I'd get started while I'm supposed to be working.

Not much to explain; I've gone heavy in defence because there seems to be a lack of upgrade options there. Starting four premium midfielders, two proven and two speculated to finish in the top 8 in Heppell and Boak. Set and forget rucks which will hopefully last the year and plenty of midfielders in the forward line. Not overly convinced on Mitch Clark as of the present, but I've got $100k left in the salary cap for tweaks.

Nice defence, might want to consider switching Colquhoun to Whitecross for about 10k. That's my personal preference but up to you. Apart from that, solid looking defence.

It's funny how weak many midfields are looking without Gaz and Pendles but that might be my patriotism talking. Not sold that Heppell could be a top 8 mid, again might be patriotism but I would prefer Cotchin or Watson.

Same ruck line as myself, no complaints.

Not sold on Salem mate. Sure he had some sub effected scores but at that price you're expecting to go 70+. If you can see him doing that, keep him if not look for other options. Like the Mitchell pick, definitely has the potential to go big this year if he can break into the Mids. Apart from that looking good

Cheers for the advice. I've not yet done a lot of reading about the rookie priced players this year so I'll definitely look into Whitecross and Salem alternatives as time goes on. But yeah, considering swapping one of Fyfe or Rockliff for Gaz but I'm going to leave it for now and enjoy the cap space

Your defence looks very strong although this is the line where I think most will be going a bit lighter on. I would drop one premo for a rookie here to allow the addition of an extra premo in your mids. Hugh Goddard is a good chance to play round 1 for the Saints I would think. I think Colquhoun to Whitecross is a better option if Whitecross is named round 1. You might as well take Scharenberg out of there too as there is no way that he will play round 1 after doing his knee midway through this year.

I like your 4 MID premo picks although I'd consider going with just one of Heppell or Boak and opting for a player that has averaged 115 or more during a season. As mentioned earlier, I would also look to add an extra premo here with the cash saved from downgrading in your backline.

Rucks are great. Set and forget with a R/F link on the bench.

Love your first 3 fwd line picks. They are all locked for me. I'm not sure about Mitchell though as he has not cemented himself in the best 22. Remember he tore it up in this years NAB Challenge but then struggled in the Senior side and was then dropped and injured for most of the season. I think Salem is a bit too awkwardly priced so would save some cash and downgrade him to a cheap rookie.

Defence is strong. Whitecross is a lock at this stage for me over Colq
I'm fine with having 4 premium midfielders but the ones you have are too risky for my liking. Think you should try and get the likes of Ablett and Pendles in there. If you are only going for 4 midfielders you need the reliable ones.
Great rucks still need cover though.
Good forwards maybe drop Mitchell to Belly which would leave you with some money to get the super premium midfielders.
Could you rate my team.

Changed Colquhuon to Whitecross as the former is injured
Changed Fyfe to Ablett
Changed Naitanui to Kreuzer
Changed Tom Mitchell to Martin

This should make it easier to snare the 5th mid fairly early after the season starts but at the risk of a weaker ruck line that will probably require a trade to Mumford/Naitanui/Jacobs later in the year. Also to show that if Tom Mitchell for what ever reason does not make the round 1 swans team and cement his spot (although, I think he'll be much more regular this year), he can be worked around.

Great team with good structure.
Need ruck cover though!
