Former West Coast champion Dean Cox has capped off a remarkable on-field career by receiving a nomination for AFL life membership for his services to Australian football.

Cox is one of 13 nominations and will automatically qualify, having reached 300 games of service after combining premiership, pre-season and state matches.

A six-time All Australian and premiership player, Cox received the Club Champion Award in 2008 and overtook Glen Jakovich as the games record holder in round four last season.

The ruckman joins nominees Jimmy Bartel, Leon Cameron, Kane Cornes, Nick Dal Santo, Corey Enright, Nick Riewoldt, Brenton Sanderson, Justin Schmitt (umpire) and Brad Scott, as well as long-time administrators Graeme Allan and Greg Miller, and former AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou.
