Rules for Americas XVIII's (Dreamteam)

INTRODUCTION

1.1 The Americas 18's (AXVIII) is the DreamTeam version of the popular World 15s competitions developed by Ossie85 on FanFooty. The Americas AXVIII DT comp uses Real Dreamteam (Virtual Sports) for its scoring and player positions.

1.2 The concept was designed for Fantasy Coaches who want to experience the additional benefits of coaching a team that doesn't cease at the end of the regular season. Players drafted into an 18's team remain with that team for the life of their career until they either retire, are delisted, or are traded to another Americas XVIII club.

SEASON COMMENCEMENT AND FIXTURES

2.1 Round 1 for the Americas XVIII's Home and Away season will begin in round 1 of the 2015 AFL season (The Eliminator will also run from round 1). We will have 16 rounds playing each other once each with 5 return fixtues, the 3 bye rounds will also be byes for us (we will have an All Stars vs Team USA side tournament) and finals will be played rounds 20-23.

2.2 Home and away fixtures are drawn at random with all 12 teams playing 8 home games and 8 away games. Finals fixtures will be based on the AFL final 8 structure with a Round Robin Competition for the bottom 4 teams starting in round 21 of the 2015 AFL season.

TEAM FORMAT AND LODGEMENT

6.1 Final Team Lists : Team lists will comprise 54 Players.

6.2 Official team lists will be maintained in this thread:

http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,99115.0.html

6.3 Teams must be named weekly before the first game each week:
Teams will be lodged weekly in a new thread created for that round.

6.4 All teams will be locked at first bounce of the first game of the round when the round begins on a Friday. We will have individual lock-outs should the first game of the round be prior to Friday.

6.5 If a team is not lodged then the team for the previous week will become the default team.

Coaches not posting their weekly teams will be monitored and penalties will apply.

6.6 GAME POINTS PENALTY (failing to submit team without informing admin)

1st - Warning
2nd offence in a row - VC Score doesn't count
3rd offence in a row - Captain score doesn't count - Sacking - Team taken into admin - new coach

Teams regulary not posting their teams will be monitored and may be sacked.

6.7 All coaches will be required to submit a preference list prior to the start of new seasons. There will be a thread provided for the preference lists. This is so coaches will have a reasonable team in round 1 if they fail to submit a team.

Administrators will rule on any disputes regarding team lodgement.

7.1 Teams must be named in the following format:
Captain: Player name
Vice Captain: Player name
Deputy Vice Captain: Player name
Backs: DEF , DEF , DEF , DEF, - Four starting defenders
Mids: MID, MID, MID, MID, MID, MID, - Six starting midfielders
Ruck: RUC - One starting ruck
Forwards: FWD, FWD, FWD, FWD, - Four starting forwards
Utilities: UTI, UTI, UTI, - Three starting utilities (These can be players from any position)
Interchange: DEF, MID, RUC, FWD, - One for each position, NO UTILITY SUB.

7.2 Captain: 2x points
Vice Captain: 1.5x points

7.3 Deputy Vice Captain: Will replace the Vice Captain should the Captain or Vice Captain not play.

7.4 If a team loses 2 of its 3 named captain options (Captain/Vice Captain/Emerg Vice Captain) they will get 0 bonus points for their Vice Captain. If a team loses all three captain options then they will get 0 bonus points for their Captain and Vice Captain.

7.5 If a Coach fails to name their C/VC/EVC correctly they will receive their C/VC/EVC selections from the previous week. An example of this would be if a coach forgot to name one of the C/VC/EVC selections or named 2 Captains/2 Vice Captains etc ..any variation of not naming these selections properly will result in the default selections being used.

7.6 Interchange and Emergency Scoring
Interchanges and emergencies will play should a starting member of your team not play, but with conditions.

7.7 Interchanges and emergencies can only replace players in the SAME position for full points.

7.8 If neither the utilities nor the interchange can fill the correct position, the FIRST preference emergency will fill in but only HALF the score (rounded up) will count.

7.9 Rounding up will occur anytime you have an odd number (OOP player, Vice Captain bonus points)
Example: Vice scores 103 x 1.5 = 154.5 = 155  Example: OOP player scores 63 = 31.5 = 32

7.9 If two emergencies are the same position (i.e. midfielders), then the highest ranked preference will play (i.e. if EMG1 and EMG2 are both midfielders, EMG1 will be selected)

7.10 If a utility is a Dual Position Player, he can be called into either position (i.e. if he is a Fwd/Mid, he can play as either a forward or mid) and the FIRST emergency will take his place as a utility for FULL points.

7.11 If 2 starting players from the same position do not play and you do not have a utility or emergency to cover the correct position you will receive HALF of your first available playing interchange players score.

7.12 If a Utility does not play the first available I/C will take his place.

7.13 You can choose to play a player out of position but if you do so you will only get half their score.

7.14 If a player is named more than once in your team you will receive his full points in his highest scoring position and a 0 for every other time he is named.

7.15 If too many players are named in any position the extra players will be moved to the emergency positions.

7.16 The team playing at home will have the advantage of having the score of the lowest scoring player in the correct position added to total score as home ground advantage.

7.17 When missing a Utility and a set named position if neither the utilities nor the interchange can fill the correct position then the first named interchange not required to replace a player goes to utilities at full points and then the next named playing interchange replaces missing positions for half points.

7.18 The use of the Captain loophole is not permitted in Americas Dreamteam. If a coach names an obvious non playing captain they will not receive any captain points for that week. This will be up to admin to rule on.

TRADING

8.1 Trading between teams is allowed as long as the administrators determine them to be reasonably fair between both parties.

8.2 Trades must be conducted in a 1 for 1 manner. This includes the trade of draft picks.

8.3 Trades must be listed in the Trading Thread in the following format:

X Team receives: Player A

Y Team receives: Player B

8.4 The trade must be then confirmed by the other party in the trade.

8.5 Trades will either Passed or Rejected by the league administrator. The administrator will take into consideration the short and long term impacts to both teams, to ensure the trade does not damage a team's future chances of being competitive.

8.6 Where any coach feels that the decision of the administrator is incorrect or unfair they may appeal and all other coaches will be asked to vote. A majority vote of coaches has the power to over-rule the decision made by the administrator. They will then provide feedback to the coaches involved in the trade.

8.7 If 4 or more coaches appeal a trade, a trade can be reviewed and a decision may be over-turned.

8.8 The initial approval of trades will come from a 2 member administration panel, who are deemed to be as impartial as possible.

8.9 The current committee is comprised of LF and Atto. For trades involving admin the current committee is comprised of elephants and Pkbaldy

8.10 Americas competition has a cap on trading, we will have a maximum of 20 player movements per team over 2 trade periods. Player movements include trading draft picks, on trading players is also classed as a player movement.

8.11 Retired and Delisted players are not allowed to be traded. This includes compo picks.

AFL retirements and Delistings: http://www.afl.com.au/news/features/retirements-and-delistings

Trade period 1 will start 1 month prior to the Nat and rookie drafts (allows trading of draft picks)

Trade period 2 will be after AFL Fantasy/RDT (Virtual Sports) positions are announced (whoever names them first)

RETIRED/DELISTED PLAYERS

9.1 AFL Retired/Delisted players can be delisted by AXVIII teams at the end of the season, there will be a thread provided for delistings. Teams will need to delist atleast 8 players if they want to use all of their National and Rookie draft picks, any/all picks can be skipped if required. Compo picks will be awarded at the end of the rookie draft in reverse ladder order for teams that do not have the required 54 player team list. Compo picks are not allowed to be traded.

ROOKIE LISTS - UPGRADES

10.1 Rookie lists must be named prior to round 1 each season. Each team must name 4 players on a rookie list who will be ineligible to play unless you have LTI's (Long Term Injuries - 8 weeks or indefinite). To upgrade a player from your rookie list the injured player must be named in the official AFL website injury list ...http://www.afl.com.au/news/injury-news/injury-list or retirements, in which case you must nominate your LTI/retired player and which rookie you wish to replace him with. Your rookie will then join your main squad and be eligible to play while your LTI/retired player will be placed on your rookie list.

10.2 You are required to re-instate your LTI back into your team again when he is named for his AFL club and the rookie back onto your rookie list - failing to do this may result in a penalty if both players were to play in your starting line-up.

MISCELLANEOUS

11.1 If you do not make contact within two weeks unless a reason is provided to the league administrator you may be sacked

11.2 Teams must maintain a reasonably organised Team thread. This should include at a minimum the current team list. http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/board,108.0.html

11.3 Tanking by any coach will not be accepted. It is fairly easy to judge if a player is tanking for draft picks or not. If anyone is caught tanking their first round draft pick for the national draft will be taken away from them.

11.4 If a coach is sacked, the Administrator will advertise the position as available and accept nominations. The administrators will have the final decision when replacing a coach.

11.5 When replacing a coach, the Administrator will advertise the position as available on FanFooty. The successful applicant will be named as new coach and will start their new role immediately.

11.6 Administrators will have the final ruling in the case of any disputes.
