Ross Lyon has given the biggest indication yet that All Australian defender Luke McPharlin will play on into 2015.

There has been external speculation that 32-year-old McPharlin would leave the game after an injury compromised 2014 campaign.

But Lyon said his conversations with the defender indicated he was leaning towards playing a 16th season of AFL.

"I think he's more (than) likely," the Freo senior coach told RSN Racing and Sport radio station.

"At the end of the day, I've got a really strong relationship with Luke.

"He'll sort it out with his wife Kalinz, (and) he's also got his pharmacy.

"I think he's more likely than unlikely."

Watching him play i dont see why he would play on. Very slow and proppy when he did play. Needs to rest his body before making any decisions

Would make sense to manage him and only play him a dozen or so games.  Silvagni can play the other dozen or so games.

Must be desperate great player but father time has caught up with him can only think the Dockers need to get the best back available Frawley ? could be there achilles heel if they don't address it

Tough one, IMO Pav and McPharlin are both too slow to keep up with the current Dockers crop and hamper them just as much as they help the team, but on the otherside, the leadership and experience these two guys provide is huge and can't see the Dockers doing as well without both of them.
