Well look, you could always randomise the bottom 8 and the top 8? The bottom eight could get picks 1-8 and the top 8 would get picks 9-16. Then it would be random but surely there's a small difference in quality between team that finished last and the team that finished first.

I think Memph, Vin and Nails would lose their shower if they ended up with 6, 7 and 8.

I wouldn't lose my shower but it would be very unfair, teams finish lower on the ladder for the reason. It's rarely luck, it may be they have inconsistent starters or a lack of depth to cover starters. My team currently has 0 ruck cover, 0 midfield cover and 0 forward cover at all.

the whole point of reducing the comp is to make it more even

higher placed teams complaining they are getting ripped off need to think about the comp and not themselves

I'm not saying I'm getting ripped off, but I will be affected from retirees etc in the future so my team will go down naturally and then other teams will rise up to my old level.
