I count 28 trades there might have miscounted so if you have 2 left it would be 2 trades that you could have done without , but still say 30 is enough think people are just overreacting to one bad week of injuries you give everyone 50 trades and there would be still people saying they need more , you know why because they are addictive little things that you have to control ha ha  ;)
Correct, still two remaining, but according to your logic I'm about to waste those two remaining trades ;)

PS as for naming trades that you could have done without 8 used in the bye rounds over 1/4 of trades used in three rounds  ;)

I suspect most people would have used 8 or 9 trades over the byes, that was prime time for upgrading and cash grabbing. Not sure how that means they are trades I could've done without, Considering I got in Jelwood, Mummy, Bartel, Hibberd and Roughy as keepers, Ambrose and Lennon as good downgrade options and Acres as the only dud...

Just saying that if you had only used 6 instead of 8 they would be very handy now but each to his own cheers and good luck  ;)

What if you could "buy" trades for 100 points? (With a 1 or 2 bought trades limit per week?)

Definitely happy with the 30 trades maximum cap, I truly believe Supercoach has allowed the more average players mask poor trade decisions (in which i also count reckles and/or unnecessary trades) with the current amount, and more would exacerbate the problem.

I understand that anyone wanting to go for the big prize at the end of the season need to burn trades early and often in order to have a chance, however by doing so you need to accept that a bit of bad luck can seriously derail your team late on in the season.

Whilst last round was unusually savage on premium and popular players, no-one can say that is entirely out of character for this time of the season, as The General rears his head every year when coaches need to refresh their players just before finals, as well as non-competing teams send players off for end-of-season surgery.  Not so long ago we had to deal with these issues with less trades as well as 1 lock-out at the start of the round.

Due to past (bad) experiences I've tried to plan my team all season to ensure I had adequate cover (and/or trades) for the finals.  I'm not exactly killing it in overall (an slightly disappointing 1360 ranking should hopefully break the top 1K by seasons end) but I'm still alive in both leagues I entered with 2 trades remaining and bench coverage of SMitch/Bews, L.Taylor/ZOB, Brown/King, and Pav/HChurch.

Do not mind the 30 trades but another idea could be 24 trades for the prelim rounds and the 2 trades per week for finals on a lose or use basis. May shake the comp up.

That's a really good idea Ringo, makes picking your starting team more crucial, as well as rewarding those teams who consistently post decent scores through the regular SC season

30 trades if fine, the only problem is that the average punter stops playing when their trades are gone and that can ruin leagues.  I love trading but the  30 trades basically means the only way to wing the 50 k is to trade hard early and have Lady Luck on your side at the end. 24 trades would mean trading early and hard might cost you as you won't be able to get cover, bit like returning to the good old days when the serve and volley tennis player had half a chance of winning

Would be good to have 2 split rounds no bye rounds and go back to 24 trades

Slim Don

Gotta remember we only had 24 a couple seasons back . Don't wanna make things too easy. But I would like to see 3 trades per week available during finals, to stop those who have been conserving trades still getting burnt by a horror week, such as last or this week.

Isn't next year a shorter season due to the cricket world cup? 30 will seem like a lot more next year.

Frozensage

30 was plenty this year.. all the injuries came in the finals.. b4 that there wasn't any real carnage.

Nope, same length but no lengthy byes I'm told and the grand final will be pushed into October instead of the traditional last week in September.

More trades would be handy, it is more than half the fun from my experience!

I traded every week up to round 14, then have had four trades since, using two in R17 and my last two at the start of the finals R20.

Could sure use a couple more right now, but with a bit of luck should be OK this week!
