I'm completely bamboozled on who to get and who to get rid of. I can either get 1 premium and a rookie or 2 average players.

You could downgrade CC or Georgiou to a dirt cheap rookie and upgrade higgins to Dahlhaus or Roughie
but seeing that you only have Kersten on the bench I would hold and keep your trades for any unexpected outs
