Planning ahead

Got a few options and a few problems.
In 3 leagues where I'm alive but no double chance. Have Swallow but no defensive cover.
Have Stevie J but can switch team a bit (Danger/ Shenton ) and play Kersten as F6 as cover.
2 trades left.

By using a double trade I can have 7 quality defenders with loophole as opposed to no cover.
By getting Spina for Ambrose I lose a little cover but Ambrose has a fractured jaw and out for 1-2 weeks anyway... I get an extra dpp I can use with Shenton, Danger, Zorko, Parker and Dusty...have Kersten/ Spina/ Shenton & Acres as fwd/mid cover.

Think this is my best play given my weaknesses and planning for having no trades lefts.
Looked at Tex and JJK for Ambrose but lack of $ means I can't address defence cover.
Looked at Crisp for Acres as well but unsure of having rookie cover for remaining weeks if more carnage happens ( would feel better using DPP fwds in mids if possible) and didn't like options for other trade ... Cutler to 200k? Ambrose to 280k or whatever.

In a similar position mate- u got Shenton,Kersten,Acres and maybe Spina -  I got Shenton,Kersten,Hartung,Cameron and no bench cover (Bews/Jones) and 2 trades.

I'm worried about relying on Shenton/Kersten as cover esp as Shenton ain't even playing (either are Acres,Hartung,Spina,Cameron). I'm thinking of trading Shenton to Gray to cover mids and fwds.

Could u do someting similar?

I've already got Gray as my M8 (should've been in the list of names above)...has been since I traded him in about 8 weeks or so...current mid/fwd cover is...Ambrose, Kersten, Shenton and Acres.  Very similar to you. Only 30k or so in the bank so options are limited but Spina as DPP gives flexibility for Gray and co.
