Although finished at 4985 - Happy with the improvement from 23k after Round 1.  Lost the fibal by 48 points. The non LBW decision on Kwajaha cost me the final imo.

Finished up 909 overall! Managed to take it FF Big Bash 02 and had a score that would've won FF Champions league too  ::)
Edged out my brother who I was ahead of by 1 before the start of the round, however still managed to lose overall to my 9 year old brother.... Little basterd

I was bored and wanted to look at some numbers from the big bash, namely regarding the toss and secondly the bat/bowl first issue.

So firstly I went through to see how many teams that won the toss ended up winning the match. So there was 35 BBL matches, what would you expect? 22? 25 teams to win the match if they won the toss? Nup, it was 16-16 through the minor round, 1-1 in the semis, and the Thunder won the toss in the final, so 18/35 teams that won the toss won the match.

Secondly, bat or bowl first? Bowl first is the general belief isn't it? Through the minor round it was 15-17 the 17 being bowl first. In the finals all three chasing teams won so int eh end 20/35 teams that bowled first won the match.

I wouldn't say that's conclusive enough evidence for either case tbh, especially since finals are weird and wacky so perhaps doing seperate analysis on finals would be more appriorpriate.

In conclusion, it's all flowering random shower good luck picking the winner :P

I have one question to pose, were there more wickets or sixes this season?
I believe it would be closer than we think, but games like Heat vs Stars with 5 in a row probably got Sixes over the line.

Interesting stats PB. It felt like in the second half of the comp that teams seemed to be more winning the toss and bowling more so than batting. That was just my observation though so no idea if the stats back it up.

376 sixes this competition, but how many wickets?
412 wickets, so you're more likely to see a player get out than you are to see a ball go over the fence.

I noticed that the sixes count was more than 10 a game during the season, I suppose it's pretty easy to get 11 wickets in a match, usually one of the two teams will lose 7.
