Pendlebury urgers fans to stick with Cloke

COLLINGWOOD skipper Scott Pendlebury has thrown his support behind struggling forward Travis Cloke, urging Magpies fans to "stick with" the out-of-form key forward.

Cloke, who has been Collingwood's leading goal kicker for the past three seasons, has managed just two goals from his first four games of 2014.

Despite the Pies' comprehensive 38-point win over Richmond on Friday night, Cloke was well held by David Astbury, finishing with 0.2 from six kicks and three marks.

But Pendlebury was quick to praise Cloke's team-orientated attitude during his formslump.

"Don't forget how hard this bloke works for the football club," Pendlebury said on Monday.

"At the moment, he is providing such a good contest that it is bringing guys like Jamie Elliott, Jarryd Blair, the midfielders as well, into the game. When the ball is on the ground it gives us a chance to clean it up."

"It must be tough for him at times, but we just keep telling Trav to compete."

Jarryd Blair should be dropped, he can't find the ball at all so Cloke is certainly not bringing him into the game. Also pretty much all of Elliots goals is marks, set shot, goal, barely (if any) crumbs.

But I am a huge Cloke fan and I know that one day it will click and *hopefully* will be all smooth sailing.
