In an interview on ABC, Tania Hird stated that Andrew Demetriou tipped off the club as to the pending supplements saga- a claim that Demetriou still denies.

Hearing Eddie McGuire (and the morning gang) on Triple M this morning talk + joke about this like Hirdy or Tania have done the wrong thing by speaking the truth makes me pretty disappointed.

I must admit that like most I took interest in this story when it broke, and as it wore on I lost interest and just wanted an end to the whole thing so that the game and the club could move forward. And I believe that this is what James wanted too, and why he became the scape goat. (I do agree that he had a lot of responsibility as the coach in the mismanagement of his players in the supplements program, but he has IMO copped his whack and then some).

The comments coming out the this morning such as "James Hird won't be coaching at the Bombers next year" should have been replaced by comments such as "the cover-ups between the powers-that-be of the AFL have now become evident, you have to wonder what else has been lied about/covered-up."

What sort of message is it to send if those who speak the truth get punished. Pretty disappointing.

So it's basically: if Hird (and his wife) shut their mouths, towed the line, took the hit that they were told to take, he could come back to coaching.

But: if the AFL took any hits, or any more heat over the events of last year, the pressure is placed on the club to move on his role going forward?!

What a load of SHOWER... can't there be any truth to come out about the bureaucracy of this 'Great Game'.

Basically I think Eddie Mcguire should shut his mouth and end his association with Football altogether as he is bascially a hypocrite and will only inflame a situation for the benifit of his club.
