In 2012 Pyke played 3 games without Mummy for an average of 102

In 2013 PYke played 3 games without Mummer for an average of 96

Combined over those 6 games his average is 99 with 34 hit outs p/game

When Mummy left for GWS it was a few days after Buddy was signed. He was quoted as saying he was expecting another contract but left as soon as he saw the writing on the wall (i.e. there would not be enough $ left in the salary cap to pay him). So sounds like the Swans signed Buddy knowing that Pyke would/was ready to take over the #1 ruck spot? It's late and I'm tired, but YOLO right haha

Really surprised Sydney are going with Pyke alone. They gave off the impression all pre season that they were rehearsing the other ruckman for the back up role. He will have to play atleast 80% game time in the ruck which will result in some pretty good numbers I would imagine. My concern would be that he gets beaten a couple of times or finds the workload too much and they decide to run one of the other ruckman in the team with him. I might be underestimating him though
