How to correctly do the captain loophole?

Hey Guys

I am looking to take advantage of the captains loophole this week. Is this how to correctly do it? Put the VC on a player from tonight's game. If the player's score is good and you want to keep it sub a non-playing player onto the ground and put the C on them, also make sure you put an Emergency on the playing player on the bench. If you aren't happy with the score simply move the C on to another player who you think will score better. Correct?
