M5 should either be Dayne Beams (with 4 other mid premos) or Expensive Rookie (Tyson or Aish)

Having a mid pricer will cause problems - will they become keepers? Unlikely.
Will they make enough cash to upgrade to a super premo with 1 trade? Very unlikely.
SHOULD? Says who? There are more than ways than 1 to skin a cat as the saying goes. What makes u the guru of Supercoach anyhow?

Moloney was a midpricer (360K I think) and he worked out perfectly for me and many others who had him. He was my m5 No he didn't become a keeper but yes I was able to turn him into a premo VERY EASILY.

lol calm down

There are more ways to skin a cat- you are spot on. It is my opinion that it would be riskier taking a mid pricer in the midfield than in any other position. At the price Tyson at M5 IMO would be a better pick than Thomas/Macrae- he wont average much less than those I have mentioned and will make more cash.

Plus in my own current side I have 3 other Mid pricers in other lines. I'd prefer not to get too entangled with mid pricers and stick more toward Guns and Rookies.

I am looking at Shiels or Maccrae at M5, stepping stones are very valuable i think, comes at a big risk though if one of them doesn't go 95-100 over the first 5-6 rounds you would have been better off with an 80 from Tyson + more cash generation..i am taking the risk as if you get it right it can be a fast track to a fallen premo,  if all goes wrong i'll trade down to Tyson before R3
Got to do something to separate yourself from the mob imo, at worst 1 wasted trade.

GO FOR IT MATE !

doing a similar thing by not starting a stepping stone mid but 2 rookie backs ... if fails and sheils/macrae kill it will rectify both positions

Macrae has only been scoring well because he was playing in Griffens spot. In the nab cup... 2014 Karnesis

Shiels has averaged 100 before.

Not quite only 91.1 (2 years ago) but having said that I have considered him particularly with Sewell going down injured.

To some extent this is true,  and he wont score as well his NAB scores, that's a given. - but he went close to an 80 average unsubbed in his first year and has plenty of upside.

Im not starting him as he doesnt fit my structure and I think rookies will be better cash generators (I hope I'm wrong for the doggies sake)
