Gday lads I've started to see alot of teams with one of Polec or Ellis or even both on field, Im thinking of possibly heading in that direction to but my main question is if your were to start them on field would you have a Michie or Crouch type on the pine or someone who is cheap and getting a game

If I personally was to start them on field I wouldn't see the point of having 200k sitting on the pine

Adamant

I've had both on my field for a while now.

But I don't spend big $$ on rookies and think these two will average similar/more than the dearer options...

If you don't mind me asking who is on your bench Ada?

Adamant

Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Ben Ross, but they are just placeholders. Will pick whoever is named round one.

Bench players aren't that important until round 2 IMO.

I'll be just picking all the cheapies and use the extra cash for maybe another high scorer for just the one week.  :P

Just gotta hope there is no late withdrawals.  :P

I'd field both.

Yes agree not that necessary for R1 but would you continue to field them R2 at still have players that 135k for R2 eg. Cunningham, Langdon etc

I'll be fielding Polec and either Tyson or Dunstan with Ellis on the bench.

I'm thinking along the same lines

Your bench sitters are there to make you money. There's no point having Cam Ellis-Yolman even though he is cheap as he's likely to average 40 and not make u that much instead of having a Michie/Dunstable etc who's likely to average 70 and make you worth while money. Rookies aren't there to fill spots, there there to make you money. Sometimes u need to spend the money to make the money.

Worst case scenario, nobody decent under 150k is named and I'll just have to restructure my team and bring in Michie, however I can't justify spending 200k+ for rookies.

My M6-M10 are currently Young, Michie, Polec, (Ellis and Cunningham)

Obviously in past years we wouldn't think about bringing in a 200k rookie to possibly sit in the pine but with the new prices and not many cheaper options we may have to. The name of the game hasn't changed though. Rookies are still about money making.
