Are these pre-season higher-end defender touts still good to go?

Been a long pre-season, had Scott D Thompson locked down back ever since everyone was going nuts about him before the NAB. Didn't play badly by any means, now haven't heard boo about him on these forums for weeks.

Also, David Swallow. Half the first page of Players & Trades was lit up with his name during the NAB challenge, now hearing less..

Are these players still viable picks? or am I missing something?

Thompson should be one of the better defenders, and is good for the byes. Swallow will make cash, but I'm not sold on him being a keeper. I had Thompson in my side for the last few months until last night, when I swapped him for someone else. Might bring him back in though, I dunno.

I think people have either locked them in or looked elsewhere and are happy with there decisions (Positions D1-4).

Focus is now heavily on whether McD is a strong enough D6 (assuming Suckers @D5), and whether there will be any rookies named round 1 for D7/8.
