Simpson, Houli, Birch, Hansen or Swallow

Simpson- is getting on in age, in a team I don't really see doing exceptionally well this year. Should still be a solid fantasy scorer though and I'd imagine he would be in my team at some stage.

Houli- quite consistent, most games are 80+. Didn't go 100+ very often last year but a lot of scores in the 90s. Tigers are on the up and we could see him turn his 90s into 100s?

Birchall- Solid, good team, good age, issues with his knee and handling tags.

Swallow- breakout contender, good age, improving side, relatively unknown scoring potential but leaves me with more cash then the alternatives. I already have M. Shaw and am unsure about having both Shaw and Swallow and I rate Shaw> Swallow.

I picked Birch, because he is a proven premium and I would trust him most of that list :) Like you I don't have much faith in Simpson or Carlton this season........
I would love to put Swallow at D3 myself but it just makes my team look a little weak, particularly when I have Suckling at D4. Give me a week though, I can see myself changing my mind :P

Why not hibberd?? hanley?

Personally i have Simo but i was just wondering why you mentioned hansen in particular ahead of those two

Because Hanley are Hibberd are obviously far better! I already have Hanley and if Hibberd overcomes his injury fine I will probably get him too.

as it's for D3, I'm thinking he has Smitchell/McVeigh as D1 and then Hanley as D2

Gotcha i am gonna aim for Hibberd as an upgrade target since he has missed the last 2 - 3 weeks of pre season
