#1 Stkilda

I think Drew Petrie could be a nice POD. With Roos improving he is their #1 forward.

Wouldnt go for harvey only cause I cant see him improving, can see him being a top 7-8 fwd but more an upgrade.

Seriously consider Roughead/Cloke, both number 1 fwds with good mids feeding them the ball, both will enjoy more freedom allowed in marking contests. Wingard worth a look, though could see him levelling off for a year before really stepping up to elite category. Along with buddy, though id have danger, buddy and one of the above 3.

Can't see how Buddy going will free Roughead up. He'll get the best defender now.

Cloke - always promises so much but his yips from 30 to 45 m out kill him.

Also, Harvey - can get tagged out of games and score really low ones.

NRoo - St Kilda will be lucky to win 5 again so - no.

Martin will see a lot of the ball and should score pretty well. Is he worth the money? For me, a top 6 forward almost certainly, so yes.

So?? We only won 5 last year? Which automatically assumes he will go worse this year?. And he plays a lot further up the ground now and still runs on to kick goals. He will still finish top 10 forwards this year.

PK - I agree top 10, but part of the issue is he is the most expensive forward of those left after '2014's number 1 lock' is selected.

Why pay so much from the start if he is 'only' rated top 10?

If I were confident he'd be top 3, then bang, he's in. It's just I need that money elsewhere.

PS St Kilda could win more than 5 - just having fun and seeing who is paying attention.

PS - look who started the thread.

Good luck.

I have considered Roughy a lot, but wouldn't take him over Martin purely for the fact that he will be getting the #1 defender on him every game now that Buddy is gone. His whole career basically, Franklin has been there to soften the blow and take the top defender, and I think with that leverage gone, his SC game will drop slightly, and can't see him going 100+. More upside in Martin with a lot of improvement still ahead of him, and if his head is in the right place, will surely be in the top 3-4 forwards this year, especially due to the fact that he will mainly be running through the midfield compared to other SC forwards.
