Richmond defender Troy Chaplin was not too concerned with a NAB Challenge loss to lowly Melbourne but says there are plenty of areas that need work before round one.

"Not so much areas of concern, but definitely room for improvement. Unfortunately, we were defending all night and it takes a toll on you.

"They pretty much played the way we wanted to play, which was a little bit disappointing," Chaplin told Morning Glory.

Well said Chappy - not the end of the world but it probably highlights some areas the team needs to work on ahead of the season proper!

Looking forwards to our next match against Collingwood, will be interesting to see what kind of teams both clubs bring into the match.
