You've got premiums and rookies, but nothing in between. Is this your first year doing dreamteam, just asking because there's a few DT concepts/theories that aren't implemented in this team.

Firstly, you need to invest in more mid-priced players that will hopefully increase in price as they increase their average, some possibly even becoming 'keepers'. Secondly, you've spent too much cash on the absolute premiums like Swan and Ablett, while it's handy to have a few of them you don't want to go all out as many of them will fall in price during the year and that's when you trade them in.
Finally, the most expensive rookies aren't always the best. Watch the pre-season closely and try and find some cheaper rookies that will play regular games. On the rookies note, you are starting far too many rookies on the field - will only lead to copping many zero's.

Hope this helps, feel free to question what I said.

Roos has said Rohan won't be playing in 2010 so get rid of him for someone like Kane Lucas.  Butcher is a KPP so won't be a high scorer.  Vezperimi or the like would be a good replacement.  McMillan-Pettard needs to build his body up before he will play so someone like Waters or Ladson would be a good replacement.

Just to give you an idea of what I do (which is very different from the 'normal'), I choose very cheap rucks as I don't feel you get value for money in the ruck position unless you have Cox.  The money saved allows me to spend it elsewhere where I feel will get me enough points to cover the points lost by not having Cox.  Last season Angus Graham was my starting ruck with John Meeson.  Eventually I upgraded Meeson to McIntosh.

You can play this game a number of ways.  I personally feel a good hint to selecting FWD's and BACKS's is to select players who have 'CTR' as a position in these positions as it indicates they have played midfield before and are likely to get a lot of touches

Interested to know how this theory worked out for you? Did you manage to cover the points elsewhere? How'd you finish up?

You havent really changed anything. You are starting too many rookies. 3 in your midfield is way too much, also in your midfield you've gone too expensive with the likes of Swan, Ablett and Hayes. Pick more 'mid-priced' players that will hopefully have a break-out season, and don't forget the dis-counted players such as Palmer.

Oh and your rucks are far to weak.

Remember, the most expensive rookies aren't always the best option, just keep that in mind.

nick1408

As Hibbo said, the most expensive aren't the best.  Look at Clark and Ryder last season.

Steer away from tall rookies as they won't generally play and definately won't score high (e.g. Talia, Butcher.  See Jack Watts last season.)

Maguire is tempting because of his price but he isn't a proven scorer.

McMillan-Pettard isn't ready for AFL yet and there are too many ahead of him at Port.

Also, Expect Hille to cost more.  It is my gut feeling.

Hippo

Nutta you haven't really changed anything, changed 2 players, swapped out one for the middle and added Chappy.

Your second team is better

Your BL will crash and burn the way it is!

If you put you BL and your FL on a see sore then one would be in the sky and the other in the ground thats how unbalanced it is.

Piss off Lucas and Butcher and ad Black and Tapscott or Gumby

Kangamagic

Backline isnt to bad but there is a few who are injury prone and im not saying that it will fail it may pay off you never know.

Midfield and Rucks are good.

I wouldnt have Butcher I dont think he will play many games next season and I dont think he is ready yet abit like Jack Watts this season for the Dees. (as per nick1408 comment)
I would probably have another rookie but Im not to sure who.
Hippo has mentioned a few names so maybe one of them or someone else.
I like Kane Lucas I think he will play a few games for the Blues though.
