His average has increased by 10 every year, and hes tagged every year. Hes not a traditional stopper, he wins his own ball, has a great draw and a massive ceiling, you guys are overthinking it. :P

He didn't tag last year and it's the reason why his average went up last year and his scores were more consistent

Well, m0nty thinks otherwise...

There was an article on the AFL website featuring taggers and WCE was one of the teams mentioned has not having someone
Also I watch every single Eagles game and he didn't tag
No worries. My point was that he still racks up points without having to get a high possession count.
Champion Data stated that Selwood returned to a defensive role in 2013 - averaging 7.9 tackles a game!  :o

in games Monty has him listed as a tagger (NOT including finals)
2013: 10 games at an average of 103.9
2012: 10 games at an average of 94.2

IMO he is likely to drop in price.
I also watch every eagles game because I'm a WC supoorter and he did not tag, or very little in 2013. The bloke loves to tackle but I can see his possession count being hindered with him being a tagger like he was in the 2011 season. His scores are not going drop drastically, but I don't think he should be someone to start with because I can see his price dropping. I reckon he is more of an upgrade target

What do you guys reckon, he was my M1 but now I'm thinking Steven or Libby? Might just upgrade him to Gaj tbh  :-\ Shame he may still score well but for my starting him as M1 after hearing this news entails too much risk

Yes he is still a machine even when he tags, what I believe everyone is getting at is that he could very well still average a solid 105 - 110 as a tagger but it will restrict him from pushing the 115+ which he is more than capable of given the right role

what do you think in regards to my situation :) Go Gaj or save money and keep him as M1

I had Selwood at M2, he's turned into Pendles now - I always had Gaj and I would recommend working him in

If I'm gonna trade him has to be another R9 bye, thinking Libba

i dunno, i dont think he will tag actually, preseason articles are so misleading, and players are instructed to be vauge/pretend they dont know whats going on
