Supercoach 2014 - First Crack

The start is upon us, time to start playing around with my team for 2014. Feedback appreciated :)

DEF: Mitchell, Thompson, Hanely, Swallow, Suckling, McDonald
(Cutler, Fuller)

MID: Pendles, Griffen, Cotchin, Murphy, Thomas, C Beams , Michie, Dunstan
(Taylor, Crouch)

RUC: NicNat, Sandilands
(Lobb, Nankervis)

FWD: Dangerfield, Dixon, Franklin, Pavlich, Caddy, Garlett

Was thinking putting McDonald in the middle so have both Mid-Fwd and Mid-Def open. Besides that im relatively happy with it all atm.

def: Solid defense
mid: like the midfield. Nice POD in Griffen.
ruck: Pretty much have the same ruck as you but i've got thurlow and you have Lobb
fwd: pretty good forward.

I'd get McDonald into the mid to create that mid/def option there. I've got McDonald in my mid at the moment. Should save some trades if injuries do occur.

This is a brilliant team which can only be improved  if you find a way of getting Gazza in and  unless you want Mcdonald in the mids.

Def: Good depth with Hanley and particular Swallow to Ave 100+
Mids: I think you have decent midfield even without Ablett but when you look at that team you could fit him in by playing around with this team and upgrading Cotchin.
Rucks: Downgrade Nic Nat to Lobbe
Fwds: Are very strong probably could leave out Caddy and get in a cheaper option that would do just as good.

Nice overall team.

My own gut feeling tells me Dayne / Dain / Dwayne Beams is really good value.

Daisy is still a risk I reckon and less likely to be top shelf.

McDonald mid / def - no rush to move him yet. If he gets games then as a def rookie he will be gold. Plenty of mid rookies to take bench spots and make cash early so keep him back if you like. Can always swing him to mids later when getting a def rookie on the verge of a price rise a few rounds in.

I guess I would rather see Ablett / Pendles / Beams than Griffen / Pendles / Cotchin.

Revised team, im not sure im 100% happy with it as not sure gained as much as i would of hoped.

Basically went NicNat -> Grundy. Was thinking Lobbe but wanted to free up some more cash. I think grundy will do well and shoulder a lot of collingwoods ruck (will look at this closely over the NAB).

Caddy -> Fasolo. This one not to happy with as think caddy is primed for a breakout and if fasolo will be in collingwoods best 22, will look at how they both run over the NAB and may go back to caddy or another around fasolo price (Brock, Clark, etc)

Cotchin -> Ablett. Originally was gonna leave the master out and grab him when price drops but seemed to fit him in without to much hassle.

Thomas -> Beams. Happy to have beams in but did like thomas at his price, will still debate this for a while
