Haven't posted a team for a while, not that I havent been playing around with it. Had a pretty settled team with Daisy, J.Martin and Tyson at M5,6,7 but played around a bit today and came up with this team.

Jarrad McVeigh, Jimmy Bartel, Sam Mitchell, Matt Suckling, Kade Kolodjashnij, Luke McDonald
Darcy Gardiner, Matthew Fuller

Gary Ablett jnr, Scott Pendlebury, Jobe Watson, Tom Rockliff, Dayne Beams, Viv Michie, Dom Sheed, Xavier Ellis
Luke Dunstan, Jonothon O'Rourke

Nic Naitanui, Aaron Sandilands
Toby Nankervis, Rory Lobb

Patrick Dangerfield, Dustin Martin, Lance Franklin, Jesse Hogan, Alex Fasolo, Ben Lennon
Mitch Honeychurch, Jay Kennedy-Harris

My aim is to only have top 10 premiums and rookie priced players. Can't look past Suckling, Sandi and Beams for potential though.
Just need to find the right mix of rookies rd1, otherwise Beams will have to go to enable another premo elsewhere.
Really need to see some preseason games to get some idea with rookies. Can't wait!

really like ya team mate ... obviously the wait is on whether we can have 2 starting back rookies ... i personally do not think bartel will score more than scott thompson and thompson is 40k less

i personally think sheed should become martin also purely because martin is probably a top 12 player at gc so has the JS whereas sheed right now would be fringe

clearly your worst pick in this team is fasolo i dont like him and personally think he is fantasy irrelevant compared to other options at his price ... and obviously it is a watch on lennon and other rookies

if you changed fasolo to bock i would say this is probably the best team i have rated and I will be looking out for your team this year in supercoach :)

Thanks guys, made a couple of changes bringing in Martin.

Jarrad McVeigh, Jimmy Bartel, Sam Mitchell, Matt Suckling, Kade Kolodjashnij, Luke McDonald
Darcy Gardiner, Matthew Fuller

Gary Ablett jnr, Scott Pendlebury, Jobe Watson, Tom Rockliff, Dayne Beams, Viv Michie, Jack Martin, Xavier Ellis
Luke Dunstan, Jonothon O'Rourke

Nic Naitanui, Aaron Sandilands
Toby Nankervis, Rory Lobb

Patrick Dangerfield, Dustin Martin, Lance Franklin, Jesse Hogan, Shane Kersten, Ben Lennon
Mitch Honeychurch, Jay Kennedy-Harris

Leaves 40k, think there should be enough rookies to choose from in the forward line with Taylor, S.White, Markworth, Garlett etc. Will have to wait and see, but I like these premos.

Maggie May

Yeah, that does look better with Martin in there.  Obviously you'll need to watch your rookies in the NAB Cup, definitely reckon Lewis Taylor is worth a look, huge raps on him early on in the pre-season.

One thing I would suggest is not to have Dunstan on the bench.  I reckon it's too much cash not earning you points.  I'd suggest either start him and downgrade one of Michie or Ellis, or trade him.  There will almost certainly be a $117k or $123k rookie that will provide enough bench cover, and free up cash to upgrade your on field players and get your cash earning for you.  It's up to you though.

Ringo

Nice team here - No comments on rookies as we all are waiting for preseason cup and first round.

Def: Not a fan of Bartel purely because he may have forward stints out of necessity with Geelongs departures and this may effect scoring. Alternates exist though should you decide to change, (Simpson, Scott Thompson, Hanley and Hibberd).
Mids: Strong
Rucks: If going with Sandi would prefer another sound premium ruck as groin injuries are notorious for reoccurring. Berger or Maric spring to mind.
Fwds: You already have highlighted the risk in this area with playing 3 rookies each week. Not a real fan of Hogan at that price but your decision. You also have the option of Clark, Bock or Karnezis to fill a spot if named for Round 1 and these have the potential to make you more cash than Hogan.

Good luck.

Bones Bombers

Thanks Ringo.
I had Bartel last year and enjoyed it. As a defender I find it hard to look past him.
Rookies are only there to fill a price spot at the moment, as they should be with everyone. Would be nice if they all worked out but very unlikely. But then someone unexpected may pop up even better.
Will have a good look at Nic Nat closer to rd1. He is an awesome player to watch, and scores well in SC. Could be the best ruck going around.

Decided to try something radically different for me. Not feeling confident in Suckers or the defense rookies so changed structure to fit more premos in. Not completely set on which ones yet but gives a feel for the structure.
Lost Rocky, but I'm ok with the mid rookies. Should be a few to choose from. Not fussed with having Daisy over a rookie as I think the price increase should be roughly the same. Daisy should score higher and have better JS if fit but is dearer to start with.
Anyhow, what does everyone think?

I am very much considering dropping thomas to a rookie also,,, feeling to uneasy about his slow preseason

i also agree with the suckling move i dont think he is as big as a lock as what everyone is saying however at them moment i have picked him

i am thinking of going deeper in the forward line as i dont trust the rookies players have darling at f5 and bock f6at this stage

Bones Bombers

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know I'm not the only one thinking that way about Daisy and Suckers. I'm hoping there will be a few forward rookies/returning players to choose from. Need somewhere to save a few $$$.

Certainly very strong down back, can't fault it whatsoever. Suckling is a must though, only change if there is huge concerns over him being named in Round 1. Way too much spent in this line.

Mids you're one short, and by one short I mean Thomas or a cheaper premium such as Murphy/Shuey. You'll fall off the pace pretty quickly without one of them I think. You do have the top end rookies but relying on them to consistently pump out 80+ scores each week is tough, and by all means won't always happen. At least with Thomas for an extra $100k you're certain of 90+ and even 105 at most.

Rucks are standard, could be concerns but hey, we're all the same basically.

Forwards look strong at F1, 2 and 3, but after that you seem to blow away, I'm a bit worried at starting three rookies here again, not enough cash used here for my liking. Relying on all of Hogan, Lennon and Kersten to get games is incredibly risky as both Lennon and Kersten will find it tough to play Round 1.

Team looks okay, few changes need to be made but other than that it's good. Best of luck man.

Bones Bombers

Thanks for the comments wato.
Please note that this team is just an early look at life without Suckers and any more Def rookies popping up. If Suckers is looking good he is straight in and everyone will have him. Hopefully a few rookies play rd1 and we won't have to worry.
Not quite sold on picking Daisy but like Suckers he will need to slot in if looking the goods. Again everyone will have him.
May allow Pav to slot into the forward line.
Seeing these rookies play in Nab challenge is going to make things a bit clearer. And then it still comes down to being named rd1.
Thanks again.

Def: Far too strong here  you should certainly downgrade Enright for Suckling to open up money here.Other premiums look good
Mids: Iwould look at upgrading Tyson or Michie to Thomas as he has been traing really well. Having Martin,Michie,Tyson & Ellis on the field is one too many.
Rucks: 2 injury prone rucks its up to you but Lobbe seems a good option
Fwds: Too risky going with 3 rookies on the field i would look at a way of getting someone that going to be a regular and not be dropped many will say Clark is next but if you can muster the money someone get someone like Caddy into the team.
As you have Fraser Thurlow on your bench you may need Dixon up fwd at some stage of the year.

Overall Team looks good with some adjusting could be hard to bet. 8/10
