Player Summary
Young has not had a good run with injuries in recent years, his highest games tally in the last six years being 18. Played just 2 games in his first season at the pies, being subbed off in one of them, resulting in his low average and low starying price for this year. Known for his great left foot and dash from the backline, I expect him to play round one if fit, however, he will face stiff competition from the likes of Scharenberg, Seedsman and a returning Toovey as there is not room for all of them in the side.

Thoughts
If Young was available as a defender, where he will play the majoity of his time he would have to be seriously considered. Will play early if fit but there are probably better options in the mids as he was never a high scorer at the hawks and cant see that changing as he is unlikely to get any time through the midfield considering the strength of the pies line up.

Prediction/Verdict
75 - A good role player rather than a star. Worth keeping an eye on in the preseason at a low price, but think their is more upside in players like C.Beams or Tyson in the same price range. Watch but unlikely.

Master Q

Nice write-up.

I'm looking at him along with Beams and Tyson etc... Will be interesting to see who is named Round 1 and also who does well in the NAB Cup. Won't get much of a run in that stacked Pies midfield IMO which doesn't help his scoring.

kilbluff1985

has to be considered at that price will all come down to round 1 teams though

nicely done dmac

Nice work, but I'd rather Beams or Tyson, I'm not sure I can trust Young's body  :-\

Ricochet

If CBeams isn't ready to go round 1 then Young will slot straight in

"Things are tracking really well and I should be taking full part in training into the NAB Challenge and into the season," it was a Frustrating season last year. But throughout the pre-season I've really attacked it and things are going well for the season ahead, The hamstring's been good. It was a bit slow at the start of the pre-season, but since sort of the end of December I've been doing full training."
