2014 Team - Please RATE ♠

Below is my initial thinking for my 2014 team, obv rookies are subject to change. Please let me know your thoughts

Solid team Siwel!

A few concerns:

- I'm not sold on Docherty. Not sure about his Job Security or scoring potential to be honest. I see your problem though with not many good players around that price or lower.
- Really not a fan of Roughead as one of your premiums. He's played his whole career getting the second defender behind Franklin and I'm honestly not sure how Buddy not being there will impact his scoring. With added attention I can see him dropping off. Not worth the risk at 530k. Maybe downgrade him to Ben Lennon or Lewis Taylor and upgrade Docherty to Hanley or someone similar.
- Quality midfield. Can't really go wrong with Yab + Pendles. Watson should maintain his average (or even improve) and I've seen him in bugger all teams so will be a quality POD early on. Beams and Thomas are calculated risks that I'm taking too. I think there will be better options than Ellis and Morabito for your bench, but that will reveal itself come NAB cup. Right now rookies are just speculation.
- Now the ruck department. Oh god, that ruck department. No way can you start with two injury prone ruckman (one who's almost guaranteed to play less than 18 games) with skimpy back up. I don't see Nankervis getting any game time in his first season. Even if Pyke goes down, Derickx would get a go before him I would say. Apeness maybe, but Griffin and Hannath are still in front of him if Sandi were to go down. Maybe he'll get a spot as key forward, but with the arrival of Gumby, I'd say he's pushed further down the depth chart.

Overall a solid effort. A few flaws, especially that ruck line, but overall pretty decent. That midfield is pretty scary for any opposition team!

BACKS Pretty weak to be honest mate. Most are going with another 2 premos and only the one rookie at D6. I would really look to upgrade Docherty here man.

MIDS Very nice. Love the Watson pick and DThomas is great value. Your Rookies are very strong as well

RUCKS Again solid. Both NicNat and Sandi are great value

FWDS Very strong. This is where I would look to downgrade a premo for cash and strengthen the backline. Consider guys like Karnezis and Higgins.

I rate your team as follows.
Def I would look at upgrading Docherty with Hanley or some other back who has a round 9  bye other backs are excellent.
Mid. Great premium picks particular Watson I would only change one of your bench rookies for Taylor.
Rucks. Both those are risky but the rewards are high if they stay free of  injury.
Fwds. Not sure about the pick of roughead,I also about downgrading to Ben Lennon who was named in the tigers best 22 in todays herald sun.

You should only make changes to your team once the nab cup  is over but its good to look at some advice. I give your team an 7.5

NicNat is there subject to fitness and NAB Cup form and with Sandi im hoping to get 8 games out of then upgrade to a Minson/Goldy etc

Again with Docherty im not 100% on him will see how he goes in NAB and what role Mick has for him

Agree defence is a little weak - with having 3 rookies priced at $180k this is probably a little much would look at downgrading one to a lower priced rookie who is playing and then upgrade Docherty to a prem that you can afford.
I would also be downgrading Clarke to a lower priced rookie who will play and then use all cash to get another defender.
