North Melbourne coach Brad Scott has told nmfc.com.au the Kangaroos will continue to play attacking football in 2014, despite a number of tight, heartbreaking losses last season.

'We are not going to change drastically the way we play, what we have got to do is execute the way we want to play better,' Scott said.

'But the plan has not changed. We went down a path a few years ago with the way we want to play and we executed that pretty well at times last year but not for long enough.'

On the injury front, Scott said captain Andrew Swallow (Achilles) still believed he would be in the mix come round one.

Lol so many of these statements are made at this time of the year. Coaches and footy media have nothing to talk about.
There's a handful of throw away lines that every coach recycles every pre season.

"player X is expecting more midfield time time this year"

"Player X is recovering really well and a chance to play round 1"

"This is our biggest pre season yet"

Would put money on it that swallow doesn't play round one. Champion bloke and player but his achillies doesn't heal any faster because he's a good player. They won't rush him back

Hope there's some truth in it for Swallow's sake but would be very surprised to see him line up in the early part of the season   :'(

Don't know if he will play round 1 but to be honest had him from game 1 last year and after a good start he through in a lot of low scores before his season ending injury not on my radar at all .
