Hughes has definitely improved on his technique. While he still loves a cut, and always will, he can play a proper forward defensive now and he hit to other parts of the ground. He can drive, glance and pull well enough. He will still knick off early in his innings, like a lot of batsmen, but I don't expect to see any repeats of the b. Martin c. Guptill from a few summers ago.
