Minson is the only one of those guys that you can have faith in to back it up again. Cooney, Libba and Boyd might all outscore Griff next year!

Maybe I was taking it a bit far there. But this time last year JPK was in the top 5 mids with an average of 120 and looked unstoppable. McVeigh, Jack (and at the 2/3 mark of the season ROK) averaged more than him. Things don't stay the same for long.

Yeah you're right. His form towards the end of the year wasn't awesome (when I traded him in  ::)) and yeah anything can happen.

I seriously think he is worth looking at but only for those that are looking to go for overall.

his round 9 bye cant be understated

he is the only round 9 super premo who will likely finish in the top 10 mids (who you want to end with)

there is also a severe lack of round 9 rookies that i can see,

kelly too pricey for me and the only other viable mid i can see is sheed. so basically the only round 9 mids im even considering are sheed and griffen.

if your only starting 1 round 9 mid thats a waste in the midfield in either bye 8 or 10, you want to maximise your scores over these rounds.

im considering starting him over a guy like watson because there are plenty of round 10 rookies avilable c.beams, tyson, dunstan, acres, salem

if you think he can maitain a 115 he should be in your squad becasue of his bye, if you dont think he can than dont pick him.

I personally have just taken out watson and put in griffen.

Wow Holz, you've talked me into taking out Wato for him! I hadn't even noticed that i only had 1 Rnd 9 player in my mids, and it was O'Rourke. Well said!

just need to monitor how the captaincy and the rise of his team will affect him. Will read some reports in the preseason and look at the NAB with a grain of salt.

this idea only works if he can keep his average up.

last year was a career best season by a long way. Just dont want him to go back down to a 110 player.

playing a super premo mid instead of a back or forward rookie should gain you 40-50 points per week which could be two weeks. so it depends on your strucutre but its possible having him over watson could gain you 80-100 points which is equal to 3.6- 4.5 points per game over the season.

so a 115 average from him and a 115 average from watson could mean.

115 Griffen Avergae
115-4 = 111 Watson Average

so that justifies the extra 25k. as 3-4 points = 20-30k.

If you think Griffen can outscore Watson at all, I would start him over Watson despite the extra price.

With Thomas now a mid, I actually think he is a great pick over Watson and Griffen. Depends how much cash you have to spend.
Quotes himself so someone will continue to talk to him :P
