DEF: J. McVeigh, J. Bartel, P. Hanley, M. Suckling, M. Scharenberg, A. Pearce (C. Giles, J. Kolodjashnij)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, J. Selwood, J. Watson, T. Liberatore, D. Beams, J. Aish, C. Beams, J. Polec (M. Crouch, J. Martin)
RUC: M. Leuenberger, A. Sandilands (S. Michael, R. Lobb)
FWD: S. Johnson, T. Rockliff, C. Wingard, L. Franklin, P. Karnezis, V. Michie (B. Lennon, J. Hogan)
CASH LEFT: $86,700

I see a lot of people with Suckling in their team but I'm always very wary of starting with a player the season after they did a serious knee injury. As I outlined in the Claye Beams thread in P&T there haven't been many or any who have gunned it the season after returning from an ACL or broken leg.

I reckon rookie wise Matt Fuller might be worth a look over some of the others. Can't see Pearce or Scharenberg cracking into Freo or the Pies starting line-ups from the start.

Midfield is good, perhaps missing a few under-price guns (Cotch, Murph) and I've already said what I think about Claye Beams. I also think there are better option than Polec. Sheed perhaps - should slot straight into our team.

If SJ keeps his forward status he's a lock there but I'm not sure he does. I also won't be going near Karnezis again - where does he fit into the Pies team? Is he best 22 yet. I'm not sure he is.

TEAM NAME: Ninjas
DEF: J. McVeigh, P. Hanley, J. Adcock, T. McKenzie, M. Suckling, S. Docherty (M. Scharenberg, D. Gardiner)
MID: J. Redden, P. Dangerfield, T. Liberatore, D. Prestia, S. Sidebottom, J. Aish, C. Beams, L. McDonald (J. Martin, E. Templeton)
RUC: M. Lobbe, C. Dixon (S. Michael, R. Lobb)
FWD: T. Rockliff, C. Wingard, S. Mayes, D. Thomas, T. Walker, B. Lennon (J. Hogan, J. Kennedy-Harris)
CASH LEFT: $6,700

Tried to pick a few unique players here. What do you think?

Lobbe finished the year off well, and Dixon should provide some money and score well. Tex will only be in my team if named round 1, or else he'll be a downgrade target. Picked Adcock and McKenzie down back as uniques. I have a feeling Mayes will have a breakout this year. All my MIDS should improve this year, especially Redden with no Voss.

Money

Wow wee talk about a unique mid, I like the idea but surely that put you behind the 8 ball especially if those soon to be premiums don't fire this year (Liba, Prestia)

Ricochet

Jeez just a few uniques man. Would probably like a bit more stability with a proven gun or two in that midfield

With some price/position changes have played with the team a bit more.

DEF: L. Hodge, P. Hanley, T. McKenzie, M. Golby, M. Suckling, S. Docherty (M. Scharenberg, D. Gardiner)
MID: P. Dangerfield, T. Liberatore, D. Prestia, S. Sidebottom, D. Beams, J. Martin, J. Aish, C. Beams (L. McDonald, M. Honeychurch)
RUC: M. Lobbe, B. Longer (S. Michael, A. Smith)
FWD: T. Rockliff, C. Wingard, P. Chapman, D. Thomas, B. Lennon, M. Clark (J. Patton, J. Kennedy-Harris)
CASH LEFT: $86,300

Rooks all depend on round 1. Golby could have a break out year this year (Or Im just bias). 11 players from Brissy/The Coast :o Plus Longer, Clark and Docherty who all used to play for the Lions and Beams the Queenslander :P

Money

Longer at R2! Love it!

You are banking on a lot of players improving/mini break out- mckenzie, golby, libba, prestia, sidey, lobbe, longer, wingard. Personally thats too much risk for me. Sure mckenzie, prestia, libba, sidey and wingard are all very acceptable risks to take and should all do fine, having all of them plus other break out candidates seems too much risk for me.
Why Golby? Surely Aish and mayes will take mid time away from golby?

That's probably true mate, but to win you need to get some uniques ;) I think Golby can improve.

Ablett hahaha I hope you're joking

I sense a long pre-season of anti god protesting.  :P

However this time around, you could put up a very solid case to not start him.

Your take that Pendles and Gazza are not wise for DT but gold for SC. What are the key differences in DT selection vs SC in your opinion? First year playing DT and 2nd SC so would like to hear your take.
