The Lions AGM has been very positive and all in attendance are looking forward to continue moving the club forward with the new culture and the past behind us.

Move to Springfield in the Western Corridor had a fair bit of discussion but when Leigh Matthews spoke in support mood appeared to change welcoming the move.

Financial Statements with the only way to improve revenue is to increase attendance at home games. Let us get back to the 25-30 thousand average home crowds to assist Balance Sheet.

Life members have now been given rights as full members resoundingly passed.

Mick Power was re-elected to the board

After a bit of discussion vote was taken to revert  the Premiership Lion Guernsey in 2015,  Pleased with decision and my Birthday wish now fulfilled,

Floor is now open to questions.

Great news all across the board there. Sounds like things are looking up and it's great that we have the old jumper back.

Now just time to improve the on field performances under a new coach and the money and members will come.

Sounds good Ringo, glad you got your birthday wish :D

Like BB said, now to do better on the field, although will be a challenge with the fixture we've been dealt with. Looking forward to next year though! :)

Looking to the season as well.  Final open training session for the year today.

Indications are there is a change to the game plan so will be interesting to observe as it unfolds.

A few further things from the AGM when Leppa was questioned on football matters. He commented on all signings and made these statements:

West and McGuanne Strong bodies to play roles - Indicates they will be in the frame from Round 1 and confirms his dual ruck policy.
Paine - A great Prospect McStay and Gardiner srong key def prospects - Indicates they may not be early starters
Aish - a bit like Lapping play him as much as we can - Indicating playing from round 1 and if he is as 75% as good as Nigel then we have a beauty on our hands.
Taylor is Boomer reborn, Cutler a tall Jed Adcock and Robertson an inside mid but no real indication as to whether they will play early,
Freeman another great local prospect.

We have a lot of depth this year so just hoping we can get support for brownie up front but with McGuane and West/Berger playing a role as well we may not see Brown triple teamed and hopefully providing plenty of opportunities now for Green and Zorko.

We have been dealt a horror draw playing 11 of our 22 matches against last years Top 8. This will make improving on our 10th place finish difficult but am confident now that off field issues resolved we can improve our on field performances,

Another factor that may have gone largely unnoticed there have been additions to the coaching staff and the club is really looking at improving Player Welfare after this year go home. Senior Players are also stepping up to to make new players welcome.

1: I would like to thank Rrrringo for his report.

2: What was that 'old culture' to which you refer?

3: I will miss the Paddle Pop lion.  ;)

4: BY the way, I met Tom Meehan yesterday.1953-4 19 games for Fitzroy after playing 73 for St Kilda. Claim to fame is a statue of John Coleman in Hastings taking a speccie - OVER old Tom!

Good work Ringo.

My opinion - no finals for Lions in 2014.

Could really go a paddle pop now

General mood of the meeting Doc was to move forward and probably the use of new culture was not the right wards but meaning time to put all the issues of the last 24 months behind us and move forward as a club.

Agree Doc finals 2014 may be beyond us due to draw but finals in 2015 is a realistic goal.

Nice on Tom Meehan
