HAWTHORN fans should get excited and oppositions nervous because the 'Cyril and Dayle Show' may be coming to an AFL ground soon.

Fans are already aware of Cyril Rioli's exciting talents on the footy field, but Hawks star Jarryd Roughead has marvelled at draftee Dayle Garlett's work on the training track during pre-season.

He says seeing Garlett combine with Rioli, or 'Junior' as the Hawks know him, has him salivating ahead of 2014 when the reigning premier will attempt to go back to back.

"I mean to watch he and Cyril in some game play at the moment, it's pretty special to watch."

Mr.Craig

Garlett's prospects this year are intriguing. I think stamina is still an issue and I worry that if he gets too many games early then his already cocky attitude might get out of control. I'm on record as saying he'll probably play around half a dozen games this year and I think that would be the best thing for his development. I'm happy to be proven wrong though.

Let's not forget about this guy too...

What did Gartlett get in the beep test if he did it? If I recall correctly Cyril only managed around 11 when he was at the draft camp.

Don't know how fast AFL players run 3km, but his beep test scores are along the lines of 15-17 year olds...

kilbluff1985

Roughy, Gunny, Breust, Rioli, Garlett

is pretty scary

Depends on the player. id say a fit mid around 9 minutes or so. A bigger key position player around 10-11minutes.

9-930 is elite
most mids hit 10-1030
1100 isnt great but its not shocking either

13-14 in a beep are fine also.

Don't like to compare myself to afl players who are superior athletes to me every aspect, but I'm 18 and get in the 13s for the beeper and run 3ks in around 10 mins, so 12:45 is very ordinary for that which he got last year. It's good to see that he is improving but he's got a long way to go in that area. He obviously is lightning quick, but needs to build up the endurance if he wants to contribute for a whole game otherwise will be used as a sub a lot I'd think (like hill was). Still is an enormously exciting prospect and i haven't seen any of him whatsoever so I'm really looking forward to seeing him in the nab.
