World Test championship 'in doubt'

The future of the World Test Championship has been thrown into doubt after it emerged that broadcasters and sponsors still hold grave reservations over the value of the event and the various parties organising it have failed to reach any agreement over the format.

It would be really sad if it gets scrapped, especially if they bring back that useless Champions Trophy! >:(

i would be extremely sad if it gets scrapped. the best form of the game in tournament style... what is bad about that?

The worry is based on England or India not making it and broadcasting revenue slipping. Solution is simple Allow the Team finishing on Top to host will ensure success of the comp with crowds attending Imagine when Australia is No 1 in 2016 Playing a final at the MCG with 80/90000 spectators.

Maybe make it 6 teams? Or make 4th and 5th play off in a match two weeks before the tournament starts.

I think another issue with Australia hosting it is that they'll want to play it in our Winter... :\ :( AFL will not budge there. :(

Think that was a mistype lol. The ICC probably want to play the tournament in our Winter, that is why the preferred hosting nation is England, as stated in the article. If it was to be played here, it would have to be played in our summer, which isn't ideal for everyone else.

I have no idea why I have that thing about the AFL there lol... ??? Started to confuse myself with Australia's wants for the Soccer World Cup lol. :P
