Tabs Predictions

2014 DT Average: 95

Tabs says: Spent most of his time in the engine room, on the HFF or as a rebounding HB flanker. If Sam Mitchell gets DPP then Macca will as well, but don't hold your breath. Only had 8 scores above 100 but 17 above 90 in DT. I don't see his DT scores improving but rather they will stay the same. If you select him in DT then it's as a back if he gets DPP, otherwise he is a no. Would I select Macca in any fantasy team, no. His DPP makes him more attractive to fantasy coaches but buyer beware. If you watch him play every time there is a contest he runs behind the play for the easy HB out, so he is a bit of a slut that way. Teams will eventually cotton on to what he does and will try and stifle his easy ball. His uncontested possessions are 2:1 to his contested possessions and his effective disposal is at 75% which is ok, but his scores are always lower when the tag is applied to him. But like all Swans, they don't let the tag worry then as there is someone else to pick up the slack.

pommyadam

virtually a lock for me as a DEF (i'm banking on Goddard losing it)

can go huge (as his finals game showed where he scored 150+) and only 4 scores under 80 (which for a premo def, is great)

Toga

Yeah an absolute lock if he gets DPP! Nice write up tabs :)

SydneyRox

Cant see how he wont get DPP. The bonus is he may not play that role this year and could go back to a more midfield role!

Have to agree with you there.

Ricochet

Actually an upgrade target for me. Others present a bit better value and don't see JMV improving much on this year.
Will definitely be in my final squad as a defender though

Interesting POV. I think he will end up going back to play in the mids mostly this year, but am surprised looking at the numbers that last year was his highest avg year. The DPP will make him very attractive

Good call, $530k is very pricey and he will surely come down

Spinking

Love how back in 2004 you could pick him up for $50k.

If DPP will be among my first picked. A lot to like about him, although price is a bit high.

Some good points there, i wanted to start him especially if DPP and he plays through the midfield but upgrade target seems like a good idea   :-\

Swans Fixture:

GWS, COL, ADE, NTH, FRE, MEL, BRI, HAW, ESS,BYE, GEE, GC, PORT, RIC, GWS, WC, CAR, HAW, ESS, PORT, STK, WB, RIC

Memphistopheles

If he's listed in defence he's a lock for me.

Especially if the likes of Goddard, Ellis, Hanley, Gibbs lose def status. Which they may not, but all of those guys played a lot more in the mid than def this season.
