My bias self named a few guys I thought might step up this year, Brown, Laird, Crouch, Lynchy, but just which one did the best?

Putting aside how great Mr Crouch was, which players did we like the development of?

Guys that didn't really step up, Kerridge, Lyons, Johnston, Shaw, Petrenko, Mackay, McKernen, Ellis-Yolman, Jaensch, JJ, Joyce sure these guys could have done more, but what of the next list? (Sloane and Danger don't count as they are megastars already)

Mitch Grigg, Rory Laird, Brad Crouch, Ricky Henderson, Tommy Lynch, Brodie Smith, Otten,

So my question is, who stepped up the most of our youngsters? Who do we expect to be the guys in 2014 to step up?

My thinking is Sammy Kerridge and Jarryd Lyons have the most to prove, with Grigg, Brown, Smith, Hendo, Talia, Johnston to go to new levels

from what i have read about Knight seems highly motivated and has great work ethic wouldn't surprise me if he has an impact

I'd be interested to see some thoughts on Henderson. Thrived when moved down back and then got chucked up as trade bait :o

I think it was Hendo who offered to be traded if it helped the club, turns out they said no way man :P

I expect him to keep that floater role, gee he did thribe in that role!! Really becoming a footballer now, exciting times for him and the backline with Smith, Brown, Talia, Laird, Otten all developing with each other very well 8)

Shaw is useless?
Totally disagree, unfortunately I don't know why he didn't play a game this year, either injury or other problems not made public

One thing for sure, a fit and healthy Shaw walks straight into the 21

He had hamstring problems.

How is Shaw useless?

Was looking very impressive towards the end of 2012, but unfortunately got injured in the finals so had an injury interrupted 2013. Hopefully he will be fully fit next year and can make an impact.

Earlier this year (July) Dangerfield was asked who the most exciting young player on the Crows list and this was his response...

"...the one for me, who I love playing with and watching, is Sam Shaw. He's basically Adelaide's version of Majak Daw - it should be Majak Shaw. He's got an unbelievable rig and kicks the ball 60m. He can play back or forward and he's that running-type defender. If he can play consistently he'll do some pretty special things, he just needs his body to back him up."

Granted his puns aren't the best, but you get the picture.

Most of your players have a couple of good games but then your coaches can't develop them any further, Otten, Thompson, Jaensch, Shaw are key indicators of this. You have struggled ever since both Bock and Davis walked out on the club and when Truck retires the defence will really really struggle.

Adelaide will struggle for the next couple of years.

Just don't know where to start here so I won't :P  will revisit it later next year ;)

Will Matthew Jeansch ever play? He got into a brawl with Tex once though.
