Interested to know if people are going particularly light in a position to load up somewhere else, I'm going light in the forward so I can the best of the best premiums in other positions.

GoLions

Definitely up forward. Provided enough are named round 1, you have all your value picks (although some are quite risky) in Higgins, Clark, Bock, Karnezis, Fasolo, etc. Plus the rookies that get named round 1 as well.

Defence I think you need to go strong as there doesn't seem to be many rookies who will push for selection, and even if there are, defence rookies generally don't score as much in comparison to other lines.

A number of people seem to be going cheap in the rucks, and each to their own, but personally it just seems like the cheap options available aren't cheap enough to warrant the cash they could make, and won't be scoring high enough to be considered a premium (except Sandilands).

Basically everyone is going 5 premiums, 3 rookies on field in the mids.

Yeah I agree, if all those fwd mid pricers are named round one, I'd probably go with a 2 premium/4 mid-pricers fwd line.
But I doubt they will.

At this stage going lighter in the backs after all the cheap guns last year , don't know if things will pan out the same but think it will become clearer as we get into the NAB cup

Maggie May

At the moment going light on the Rucks (2 mid pricers) and probably forward (3 premium, 3 rookies/bargains (below $250k) starting 2 rookie bench).  Would prefer to have a bit more of an even spread between def & fwd (3 premiums, 1 mid pricer/cheap premium, 2 rookies/bargains on field, 2 rookies bench) but the depth of rookie/bargains in the defence seems light.  Will depend on what emerges in the NAB Cup as to which way I go in regards to this

_wato

I'm going with a pretty much even spread across the whole field. There isn't one line that looks out of proportion and it seems to all fit.

I'm going with a 3-2-1/3-2-3/1-1/3-2-1 spread. Those mid pricers include Grimes, Suckling, Beams, Thomas, Sandilands, Franklin, Pavlich and Clark. I'm expecting 3-4 or of those to become keepers so I'm starting with 13-14 premiums in my mind.

The Pelican

I have gone a bit light in my rucks. Lobbe and Grundy are on the field and I have two rookies on the bench. My forward line is a bit weak as well. My spread is 4-2/4-1-3/1-1/3-1-2

Ricochet

I've gone with value in the mids and fwd line. Makes it look a little lighter in those lines but they should generate some decent cash

From heaviest to lightest: Fwd,Mid,Def,Ruck although some might see it as Fwd,Mid,Ruck,Def.

Anyone considering a ruck line of Sandi and HMac/Grundy/Longer to save some cash?

Yes, definitely. All of those guys (HMac/Grundy/Longer) could make serious money and be a stepping stone to Minson, Goldy, NicNat.

Considering HMac and Sandi depending extremely heavily on NAB cup form but also I feel like Sandi is enough of a risk and I want a genuine gun to go with him. Also thinking pragmatically, if Sandi goes down early then HMac will still be an affordable option with a proven record. If I start with both and one goes down then Longer/Hickey become the next best options. I don't like the sound of that at all.

Hampson and Sandi still named in mine. Backs and forwards still loaded and mids are for all the growth
