Rance's SuperCoach scores have improved every year and I think this will continue next year as well.

Verdict: Normally you shouldn't go near key defenders in SuperCoach, however there are a few exceptions. Alex Rance may be a key defender, but he is still able to score well in SuperCoach. An average of 87 isn't too bad for a defender this year, as many defenders under-performed and Rance will only get better. Rance is still fairly young (24 years old) and the inclusion of Chaplin helped him this year and will continue to assist him in the future.

Rance had some big scores in 2013 (147, 127, 112, 111), but also some shockers (34, 47, 58), so he needs to work on his consistency. Rance is often criticised for kicking and decision making, but his kicking is usually very good and apart from the odd brain-fade, he is good. Rance gets a bit of the ball for a key defender and also takes many marks, as seen in round 17 when he accumulated 30 disposals and 16 marks, which resulted in 147 SuperCoach points.

I think Rance will make a good POD (point of difference), as he won't be as popular in SuperCoach, as he is with the ladies. If Rance can close the gap between his good games and bad games and become more consistent, then he wouldn't be a bad choice as he can certainly find the football for a defender.

2014 Predicited Average: 88-93

i think low 90s is about right, started poorly with richmond mucking around with the back strucutre.

not good enough to pick him when i think you can get abit better players for 40-50k more.

Yep, Chaplin wasn't 100% as the start of last year and I think another pre season with Chaplin will help them work out their structure and everything. Low 90's isn't too bad, but yeah you'd have to buy a true premuim unless you think he can go 100+.

Vinny

Little off-topic but since you mentioned him JRoo, what do you reckon Chaplin will average next year man?

not enough to pick him, i monitor rance and chaplin for me WXV and i think he could go low 80s at best, he really isnt in a SC friendly role. It was either going to be chaplin or rance who benefited from chapling coming to the tiges and its Rance who will reap the rewards.

Yeah I wasn't going to pick him in SC, was just wondering for BXV since we got him. But that's Sportal scoring system. I would take a low 80 avg. for BXV.

Yep, we recruited Chaplin to be our lock down defender, while Rance and Grimes (who we rate very highly) are our more attacking defenders. I remember telling you last year Chaplin's scoring would decrease by a bit, Holz and to trade him and Daisy for Jelwood, I think.
Since moving to Richmond, Chappy's scores have decreased while Rance's slightly increased and next year I expect the same to happen.

Haha, well I could see Chaplin's scoring decreasing.
