I have the only AFL ball in the world signed by me  ;)

This'll make some people laugh...

...me and a friend of mine were walking down the street few days ago and we walked past an Op Shop nearby. In the window they had a range of AFL gear (scarves, jumpers, posters, etc.) but one thing caught my mate's eye.

A shoebox full of trading cards, 20c each. I could tell by his reaction that he'd love a couple just for the sake of it. But alas, the store was closed and he works when the store is open. Bummer.

However, the very next day, I went back when the store was open, walked in and enquired about the trading cards.

Later that night, when my friend came home, to his utter amazement, I surprised him by buying the entire box! :o Yep, the entire shoebox of trading cards are ours for the bargain price of $20.

We sorted them all out and ended up with:

Close to an entire standard set from the 1996 Centenary collection (just missing two!)
Half of the golden set from the same series (including a couple of rare ones)*

Most of the ones from the 2011 series...

...along with heaps of doubles/triples/quadruples and more.

Money well spent! :D

*PS. Story gets even better, one of those rare gold 1996 cards...I found out its current value....pretty much what I paid for the entire box!!! ;D ;D ;D

Nice work. Smart investment :)

Hey fellas ! I know this thread is old but one of my mates found a tin full of footy cards from the 1930s VFL season from all different clubs. Anyone know how much something like that is worth ?

Thanks :) Will cheer for any information.

Vinny

Has a card of Brownlow winner from 1930 - Stan Judkins.

If that helps at all. :o
