Which ruck?

Hi all

penultimate upgrade time, Nicholls has done his job to earn me some cash, can afford any ruckman plus change enough to get a final midfielder in for T.Mitch (not just yet though).

So, Minson or Goldy? Or another if you prefer but you'll have to convince me...

I have currently got Roughy and Nicholls, Rowe on the ruck bench and Cox in the forward line, with 7 premo-ish forwards (SJ, Bartel, Cox, JJK, Rocky, Walker, Buddy) so I can swing Cox into ruck if necessary and not take too bad a hit up front.

I like Minson's run home better than Goldy, even if Goldy is currently averaging more and smashing out some huge scores... To think I had Goldy in my starting team and then right before round 1 decided to spend some of my saved cash to "upgrade" him to Sauce. That worked out well  :o

Anyway, thoughts?

Minson imo with the juicy run Home and will be sole ruck Only Problem may be against the in form Kreuzer in Round 20 but apart from that not bad

kreuzer ave over 120 last 5 weeks iirc. great POD too.

Hmm good point fever. I'm not sure though that Kruezer will score significantly higher than Goldy or Minson to justify the extra cash (Thinking about my final mid upgrade in the near future, saving 30k by getting Goldy/Minson instead of Kruez could be all the difference).

Having looked at Goldy's scores he's actually bone really well against the harder teams already, I'll take a look at who is in my opponents teams as a POD would be nice but Goldy is looking good for it now...

You need to look more at the quality of ruckmen as opposed the team itself. Goldy has done well against the "hard" teams because their ruckman aren't as good (eg. Hawthorn, Geelong, Collingwood).

I'm stuck with this decision as well to choose out of Minson, Goldy and Kreuz. Based on my efforts this season, I think I'll wait until the last minute to decide and then pick the one who ends up averaging 20 pts lower then the other 2 for the remaining games  ;)

Lots of people on the Kruze missile bandwagon, while I'm certainly not suggesting he's a bad pick, he's 30k more which could cost me in the final mid stakes. Plus I'm reluctant to jump on for a relatively recent run of form (granted it's about 6 games now) - very glad I didn't jump on when the Deledio cry went out...

The man is playing some amazing footy but has also never cracked the ton against freo or essendon who he has to play...

I had a look around my cash league and surprisingly, not one team has any of Minson, Goldy, or Kreuzer. NicNat, Sauce and Big Ben seem to be the popular ones. So it looks like any of them could be a POD, though will be interesting to see what people do with NicNat/Nicholls this week.

Thanks for putting Kreuzer into the mix, will have a think about it. Gut feeling is Goldy but will mull it over.
