given you can have one or two things work in your favour. How far is too far back ?

Holz

I would say you would probably need to be within 300 of the leader for any shot. Unless you have an amazing team and dodge every single injury.

for example if you dont have hanley, bartel or goodes this week your looking good on an unlucky guy like me who has all 3.

bartyboys

I know how fast it can happen ranked 14 before a shocking round 13 bye . now sitting 500 odd points off leaders.

It depends on what sort of shape your team is in. If you are ranked within the top 75 and you have a completed team with good coverage on every line and plenty of trades left then I reckon you would still be in with a shot. You would need everything to go your way for the remainder of the season though.

There will be a lot of highly ranked teams that will slide down the rankings over the next few weeks due to very low trades or no trades at all. This week in particular will be very interesting with Hanley, Goodes, Bartel and possibly Nic Nat out. Plenty of teams will still be holding Dangerfield and Watson too.

What is your current ranking and how is your side looking?

probably cant win from outside the top 15 now, barring a miracle.

Disagree with this. It is obviously a lot harder the further away you are from the leader but it's not impossible.

The team that is currently ranked 11th overall was ranked 38th the previous week. A lot can happen in one week.

There is still a lot of movement to be done in the overall rankings and it just takes one big score to get you within contention and on the other hand just one poor score to rule you out completely.

I think you are still a shot, don't underestimate the power of trades, there will be many more injuries to come (I'm ranked 221 but have run my race, 1 trade left)

way too far back i think, you need to start using your trades if your any shot.

im strugling to make points up where im sitting. The top teams have good squads.

If you are ranked at 250 or worse then you have around 850 points to make up not 500. That is going to be extremely difficult but never say never.

You have 9 trades left which is a great position to be in so make sure you trade hard from this week onwards to give yourself the best chance possible.

As a hypothetical, if Griffen or Pendles go down some might be in trouble. If by round 20, 21 & 22 there's a spate of withdrawls, those with trades will be well placed. 600-700 points isn't beyond the realms of possibility, however it would take a fair slice of luck and injuries would have to play a significant role.

nopies4u

or you can go for gold and pick uniques that might score high and put you up there, or drop you heaps, its a risk worth taking if you are going for overall but are not too close to the lead.

i see what you're saying, but everyone has so many shared players that even if you have a POD or few PODs with a lot of the top X number of teams, it's almost a near cert that at least quite a few teams above you share those same players. so while you might make up ground on a lot of the top teams, it likely wont be enough, unless you have a radically different squad, or if said miracle happens and you just bink every one of your PODs every time.
