Trading opinion!

Am looking at trading out Watson for a rookie this week so that I can pick up Swan next week for K Martin.
My debacle is should I pick up Lachie Hunter or should I pick up a non playing MPP.

Midfield is Ablett, Pendles, Danger, Jelwood, JPK, Cotchin, Fyfe, T Mitchell (Watson, K Martin)

Have 8 trades remaining and only need to upgrade 1 more forward as well. Blicavs will most likely turn into Rioli in a couple of weeks.

With Danger going down for a few weeks possibly I need to pick a prem in the midfield.

There a pros and cons with picking up a non playing rookie, loophole etc. but just a not sure if I should go this way. Would appreciate your opinions on this one.

I'd go for a non-playing DPP if you're getting Swan for Martin. Reasoning that you have enough cover as it is and DPP would give you almost better cover than a Hunter anyway, and it does also give you the loophole option. Hunter's JS isn't worth it, and it's unlikely you'll trade him out again so money making isn't an issue.

I am planning a similar move to non playing dpp next week for greater flexibility and loophole use. If you have ample dpp in the fwd and most do , that is what I would do

Looking at the mpp rookies, the one I am leaning towards is haiden schloithe.
Been dominating in the wafl and even though I want a mpp that won't play he could be an outside chance to get a game which could be a bonus on the finals if there is carnage.

Ruck: Cox, Nicholls (Blicavs, Currie)

Fwd: S Johnson, Bartel, Franklin, Zorko, Rockliff, Nic Nat (Lamb, McBean)

If Watson turns into Schloithe/Growden I am looking at turning K Martin into Swan and Blicavs into D Martin (via McBean).

Will have 5 trades remaining with a complete team.

Will have Goodes/Staker sharing D6 as well.

Once D Martin comes in I am looking at benching Zorko for cover either in fwd or mid (once I get my non playing mpp rookie)

Added a poll for these 2 mpp rookies.
Am thinking if my mpp rookie gets a game or 2 later in the season it would be worth picking them up just incase of the dreaded general come finals time.

Looking at Josh Simpson he looks like a Jake Neade type that might get a game or 2. If Walters/Mayne/Ballantyne get rested or injured during the remaining H&A games I can see them introducing this kid.

As for Josh Growden I can also see him getting a game or 2 as he has played well enough in the NEAFL. With GWS blooding kids weekly surely they will give this kid an opportunity.
