Which trade for Clisby?

Hi guys

looking to get in Clisby on the bubble, have a few options here. For the purposes of this the only issue with naming is if Clisby is NOT named, then obviously I won't get him.

F: Bartel, NicNat, Buddy, JJK, Rocky, Staker (Mayes, Daniher)
9 trades, $13k

I'm strongly considering dropping Mundy and subbing Goodes to midfield to bring in Clisby. Gives me a tonne of cash to play with, would allow me next week to go Sauce -> Minson and Mayes -> Stevie J, then the following week Terlich will be a straight swap for someone like Hanley. Some bad rookie choices and injuries have hurt even with extra trades this year. That scenario would leave me 5 trades for 2 upgrades (one def and one mid), but should be enough cash to leave me with 2-3 trades during finals. I'm also considering just biting the bullet and keeping Sauce to save myself a trade.
On the other hand, if I trade Goodes I could ditch Mundy for my final mid and probably still have enough cash to get SJ next week. Terlich straight swap and then one more def upgrade (similar end result really, just a different approach)
Lastly the small amount of cash from Thurlow will give me enough to get both final defenders and a final mid (trading out goodes, terlich and mundy) but not 100% sure how I would manage SJ in...

Thoughts?

I would say Thurlow if its true from the other post about him missing 2-3 more weeks

Yes go with Thurlow mate. 2-3 weeks is too long. Clisby will make you more cash by then. :)

Haha it's a fair point but a) I don't see him in my final team and b) even if back this week he's going to be carrying an injury. Downgrading him to make 3 possibly 4 upgrades makes perfect sense to me...

Clisby's cash making isn't relevant, as I won't be trading him out. Hence I'm not sold on trading out Thurlow for him as it's a trade for $110k, which isn't really worth it in my opinion.

Oh absolutely, he's definitely coming in, the point was more that if I trade one of the others I get 300k/450k compared to only 110k. If we're placing money value on trades, would you sell a trade for an extra 110k or would you rather have more? Effectively that is the question.

If you trade Goodes you'll have to field Clisby for at least a few weeks until you can do that final defensive upgrade.

For that reason I'd be tempted to trade Thurlow as I still believe Goodes could be a more than capable D6.

So if you traded Mundy you'd be fielding T.Mitchell and Clisby for the coming weeks, if you traded Thurlow you'll still be fielding Goodes and Mundy and if you trade Goodes you'll be fielding Mundy and Clisby. I think...?

So, I think the trade could be worth the 110k as it will strengthen your coverage and you won't lose out on points fielding rookies.

am undecided but will probably trade Goodes, purely so i can afford Blicavs -> Watson. i guess it depends on what your plans are

I guess my line of thinking is this: If I trade Thurlow, I can afford 1 maybe 2 upgrades of my backs (Get rid of Terlich and Goodes, Clisby as D7). If I get rid of Mundy (Who I don't see as an M8, I know there are people who do but I never planned to keep him) I can finish my entire team Except for Mitchell as an M8. Keep in mind that at the moment Mitchell is outscoring JPK. Give him a few more weeks and my final M8 should be an easy downgrade/upgrade swap away.

Of course, if I trade Thurlow then if things go pear shaped I have a potential M8 in Mundy to save that trade. But you can't predict the future, I'm inclined to make a bold move...

The worry if I trade Thurlow is that I will not be able to afford Stevie J for a few weeks, in which his price could climb up. If I trade Mundy, I can grab him next week easily...
