So is Voss the right coach for Brisbane going forward?

Ringo

Even though Voss will be given extra coaching staff next year do not believe he is the right man to coach.

Reasons for this and I will summarise:
1). Rotating door policy this year gives no stability. We all are waiting for a forward to stand up and take over from Brown but none are being given the chance to establish themselves. Paporone, Cornelius and Lisle seem to get no more than 2 games in a row to show their wares and this is no good.
2) Some of Voss's moves on match day leave a lot to be desired. 2 that stand out when we were getting thrashed in first quarters Voss should have reverted to man on man defence to slow the game down. Common sense coaching decision surely but no he maintained "his" game plan and no plan b to go to. When Patful was being outmusled by Hawkins Voss should of made the change early but still did not. Elementary coaching errors.
3) Whilst this can not be fully labelled at Voss he has had over 4 years in the coaching role and some of the players should be a lot more developed than they currently are.  So question arises is Voss the right coach to take players to the next level.

People are saying the extra coaching assistance and improved on field performances are reasons to extend Voss's contract for 2 years but I disagree. The announcement today that we have exceeded 24000 members is great but I doubt we will have that many in 2 years with Voss as senior coach.

I believe in voss.

I've always been interested to know what the Brissie boys think of Voss.

Tbh i can't stand when other non-supporters say he's a terrible coach and blame him for some decisions (like the Rocky playing forward whinge).
From an outsider looking in I thought he was doing a pretty good job of getting games into the 0-50 game players over the last couple of years so in 2014/15 you have 15+ players who have played 50-100+ games.
Agree with you Ringo on Cornelius and Lisle. Its a bit weird they aren't given more opportunities but maybe they aren't ready or any good? I dunno

I'm with Zip on this one. I reckon Brissie will be a real contender in a year or two.

Ringo

I do not doubt we will be a contender with getting games into players but my concern is with Voss's coaching especially on game days. Have outlined that before, Not sure whether Harvey has any input on game day but surely Voss should be listening to him if he does.
We definitely need another tall forward to stand up if we are to be a force and Merrett is not the answer. Lisle is an excellent kick for goal and Ace (Cornelius) can take the strong contested marks. With the quality of our mids and defenders this may be the reason that Lisle and Ace do not get the games as we have the Option of player Staker Forward and like it or not Rocky when the full midfield is available. The form of both Moloney and Mayes has made it hard to ignore both in the mids.
Whatever happens I will still support them as loyalty will not allow me to support another team 25 years supporting the team counts.
It is interesting that questions are now being asked of Bucks ability as coach. At least Bucks served an apprenticeship whereas Voss did not.
