Loop Hole quick question?

Guy's just a quick question that has been asked a few times but I want to be certain.

I have Gary as VC and want his score and plan to put Brett Goodes on the ground as Cap and emergency Terlich.
By doing this I get Gary's 153 as VC, but I just wanted to check that I still get Terliches score as he is emergency and that Terlich does not become Captain somehow when comming on for my NON play Captain in Goodes???

PS I have a full playing 22 so I need to get the VC through this way.
