Apparently Staker was only visiting Rob Wiley who was heavily involved with Staker at West Coast. Robb Kerr stated talks with Staker had been fruitful and he expected Staker to remain at club.

Staker is reported to be unhappy with Lions offer of only one year with Carlton pre pared to offer more. Brisbane need to adjust their policy of only offering 1 year contracts to players 29 years and over. Is starting to get us into real trouble. Staker definitely is deserving of a minimum 2 year contract.
