COLLINGWOOD is awaiting news on Collingwood midfielder and last year's best and fairest Dayne Beams after he was sent for further scans on his injured quad on Friday.

The 2012 Magpie best and fairest winner has not played so far in 2013 after injuring his quad on season's eve and had his first football-based training session last Wednesday as his rehabilitation program continues.

However there are fears he is further away than the Magpies originally hoped and the injury will stop him returning for another month.

tragic. such a key player for the Pies, and captain of my AXVS team.

need him back 4 games before the finals start to find some match fitness and form and all will be well...

just need to make the 8 in the meantime.... preferably the 4 but that's looking like a steep hill to climb already
