Okay so I have tried to post this three times now and each time it will only post part of the message, even when the preview shows the full message.  So I am going to try again fingers crossed it works.

So we all know what they say about best laid plans but this is what I am hoping to do over the next three weeks barring any disasters (injuries unexpected price jumps in the wrong direction etc).

My current team is:

D: Goddard, Gibbs, H. Shaw, Goodes, Otten, Vlaustin (Heath, L. Brown)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Swan, Dangerfield, Cotchin, Wines, O'Meara, M. Jones, (Viney, Crouch)
R: Maric, Leuenberger (Rowe, Gawn)
F: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, JJ Kennedy, D. Thomas, Macaffer (Neade, Mayes)
Trades left: 21

This week:
Wines to JP Kennedy,
Neade to B. Kennedy

Then over the next two weeks go:
Heath to Thurlow / Colquhoun
Mayes to Staker
O'Meara to J. Watson
M. Jones to J. Selwood

The net result going into round 10 will be:
D: Goddard, Gibbs, H. Shaw, Goodes, Otten, Vlaustin (Thurlow/Colquhuon, L. Brown)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Swan, Dangerfield, Cotchin, JP Kennedy, J. Watson, J. Selwood (Viney, Crouch)
R: Maric, Leuenbeger (Rowe, Gawn)
F: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, JJ Kennedy, D. Thomas, Macaffer (Staker, B. Kennedy)
Trades left: 15

Would love any feedback on this.

Yay!!! My full message has been posted  ;D

the captain

Not sure on Kennedy, but if that's the net result then it is definitely worth the risk on him. Getting 3 premium mids in with 6 trades will always be hard to pass up.

With the Heath to Thurlow / Colquhoun....

I would also look at Jimmy Webster

batt

That is a monster midfield.

I'd give Kennedy a miss and go straight to Staker, then hope a FWD comes through in the next 2 weeks.

I had a 3 week plan, last week.  That disintegrated entirely after this weekend so don't count on it all working out  :P

I reckon if thurlow keeps getting selected go with him! He is a gun! Being a Geelong Supporter i am looking forward to seeing more of him. Looks an absolute gun!

No plans for nic nat in the next 3?

That midfield will be exactly the same as mine by end of byes. So I approve there!

However, i think there are more points to gain from upgrading caff than the midfield.

For example.  Caff to a prem forward will get you about 45 ppg increase.  Omeara to jobe will get you about 30 ppg increase.  So i think upgrading caff to SJ/Nic Nat is more important.

Also, what is your plan over the byes?  It could be good to do omeara to JPK RD13, Jones to Jobe Rd 12 (not the best but).  If you are copping donuts, you will lose ALOT of points.  With your trades in mind, I would definitely look at how flexible your list is during them and seeing if you can do other trades before hand (such as upgrade fwd line).

I do but not in the next 3 weeks.  At the moment it will take more than 2 trades to upgrade Macaffer/Mayes/Neade to NicNat or SJ or any other premium worth looking at in the forward line.  However Jones & O'Meara have grown enough that I can upgrade them to top midfielders.

What I'm hoping to do is have a killer midfield finished.  By then the likes of Vlaustin, Macaffer & Viney should be finished making money and the likes of NicNat should have dropped to a more affordable price.  I can start looking at downgrading/upgrading in my forward & backlines.  That is the other advantage of Viney & Staker.  Because of dpp I can use Viney or Vlaustin to upgrade a forward premo if that is what suits my team best once I'm looking at that.
