Mitchell has been a proven performer and still has a 104 average and plays for the best side in the comp(also averaged 112 before, plus killer run before bye). Swallow is usually around 95-105 average but can he take the next step. Basically is who would you rather in your squad come season end. Thoughts ?

Ricochet

How do both look in your squad when considering byes? With people generally having heaps of Port and Brissie players it might be too much of a strain on RD11 if you add another Hawk.

Swallow. I had both last year and Mitchell cops a lot of hard tags. Taggers are going to Wells at the moment giving Swallow a bit of a run at it.

Settle down mate, Sydney are the best. They won the last premiership.

Anyway, I would go Swallow. Scored well against really tough opposition and his draw opens up now.

neither really appeal to me, so if i had to chooses Swallow for byes.

Tyes

Mitchell will be rested a bit in the next 3 rounds, at least one match out of the three I would imagine. Hawthorn seem to be really modifying his work load this year, playing him of half-back rather than in the square. I think his center time should increase as they try to get him cherry ripe for the finals, i'm just not sure if this means more points for him or not. He's not doing too bad of half-back at the moment.

Toga

Mitchell stinks vs Sydney, averages like 73. So wouldn't be getting him this week.

Another factor is resting: Hawks will easily make finals, North will have more of a struggle, so I'd say Mitch will be rested when they can afford it, while Norf will need Swallow performing week in, week out.

Go Andy ;)

Boomer coming back in also helps Swallow's case. Boomer usually always cops a tag. Wells and Boomer will cop the tags whilst teams don't usually tag Swallow because it's like tag Boyd. His main source of possessions are contested so there is almost no point of tagging because he'll get the ball anyway whilst Mitchell needs to run free and is rank no. 3 in the AFL this season for uncontested possessions (Kane Cornes 1st, Grant Birchall 2nd (and you saw what happened to him when tagged) meaning if he's tagged it will really impact his performance

Swallow is rank 5 in the comp for contested possessions after Ablett (1st), JPK, O'Keefe & Libby (4th)

Yep, really agree with this. Swallow for me. Mitch is great, and I've had him a few seasons before, but does get the tag and suffers sometimes because of it.
